These judges seem to be taking the new rules to a bit of an extreme. I could see Cowboy landing half as much as Mas but as his shots look more significant he could get the nod.

Good point, which is pretty much how Ben won last night, to touch on your point in the other thread.

Hedging my cowboy -125 action with masvidal +150 based on others' input.. still solidly on cowboy, but not a 3.75u risk anymore.

    Pena -

    - I'm obsessed with Shevchenko, I watch her fights everyday, she has great standup, I take her very seriously, I'm training the same (not changing anything for the altitude), I don't care about those things

Knight - Dana gave me a Christmas bonus, got the call 18 days ago, we both come to fight, expect fireworks, maybe another big bonus check, I have guys at the gym like him, his stick and move style, I feel comfortable with my wrestling, i can take it to the ground easily if I have too, I can't go for it blindly, will have to set it up, I can control it on the ground, but I want to knock him out, I have an advantage on the ground, there's no way he'll submit me, he'll have to grind me out to win, Hooker fight prepared me for this fight, I'll get right in his face, make it nasty, I will win the fight that way

Just rewatched Marquardt vs Te-Huna. I thought it was worth noting that Marquardt never actually took Te-Huna down. He reverses a couple of sloppy throw attempts by Te-Huna and lands in dominant positions but never actually shoots.

Shevchenko - started marital arts at 5 years old, sister is 9 time muay thai champion, switched to MMA in 2010, as long as I train hard, the title will come, everything I trained for Holly worked, was supposed to fight Pena at UFC 205, but she didn't want the fight, i signed the contract, but she refused, but I'm still training

Not worried about the hometown judges, because he won't make the final bell, I'm going to bring an ass whooping, he won't win in scrambles, he won't try to take me down, it will be a waste of energy, he can't wrestle for sh*t, he's crazy saying it's better than mine, we've worked out together, he's just playing to the public, (training in Denver), he's taken food from my plate twice, I want to put a legit hurting on him

If you feel that Cerrone is the play then go for it. Cerrone has never looked better than he has at 170. I dont think gas tank is going to be an issue even at this altitude with these two fighters and I wish it was a five rounder instead.

Don't let the group persuade you, its your money.

I think most of us are on Mas but Im still waiting on that +150 or better (European here).

Okay finished watching tape on Marquardt, started some on Alvey. Here's what I took away:

    Nate's strengths:
    - low kicks
    - feints
    - hard counterpunches on backfoot
    - better at counterpunching than leading but used feints very well in his most recent fight to have more success leading
    - sneaky switch kicks
    - good use of jab to open up other strikes
    - big power
    - good top control
    - good BJJ
-great in clinch, throws knees from there

    Weaknesses:
    - has slowed down considerably from his prime days, struggles with really fast guys
    - suspect chin
    - tendency to retreat with his hands down when getting tagged
    - gets swarmed against the cage a lot
    - guys with good movement and boxing give him problems

Alvey has a very similar style to Marquardt really. He likes to let opponents into range and then throw hard counters, but tends to favor basic hook combos where Nate comes more over the top.

interesting did not know they trained together before.. i guess there is a reason Masvidal asked for this fight. like the fact that he is training in denver too. confidence increase in Mas for sure :)

I have to watch tape, but I'll probably be on Mas and Assuncao. Mas has much better boxing, much better defense in general and head movement, plus he can hang at range while I don't think Cerrone can hang in the pocket. He's very hard to hit clean with kicks as well, everytime Burger threw that body kick he would counter with a leg kick underneath it and catch it. Cerrone's counter switch kick/knee could trouble him when he tries to press forward though.

I have Assuncao around -200, I think Sterling is honestly an easy fight for him. Sterling is really wild with his exits after he kicks and leaves plenty of openings, Assuncao is a very solid counterpuncher, and Sterling has nothing for him at boxing range. I think Assuncao is better on the ground and don't expect Sterling to be able to box in to get close enough to his hips consistently. He kinda relies on guys walking into his takedowns, Assuncao takes small steps and doesn't over-commit much.

    Bet365 got lines now:

    upload_2017-1-17_9-45-54.png

Took a unit on Masvidal. Guessing the under will be unplayable at Arlov/Ngannou.

Ill probably play Arlov if he goes any higher, otherwise ill play his KO line. He is still a big step up from Hamiltonm for Ngannou, and HW is HW.

mexico city 7380 feet. (worst altutude ever for fighters)
Albaquerque (jon jones, holly holm, Jackson wink team) 5310 feet.
Elevation fight team (Dillashaw, Magny, Brown home team) 5280 feet
Las Vegas, MGM grand 2000 feet.
    American top Team 13 feet.
I would say that the altitude could be a small factor here. This small altitude could favor Andrei, Maqruard (Colorado is his backyyard) and Cowboy. but the situation is way less worse than compared to Mexico. But thanks for pointing that out.. definitely worth putting behind the ear.
