Pure talent wise I think he's the second best qb in the league. That's saying if all offensive lines and all receiving corps are equal, there's only one guy I'd take over him.

If you look at his stats, yes he's not in the top three. But you also have to take into account that he faces a ton more pressure than any other qb and has below average receivers

Scrapper(and a few other guys in here) are the guys in the Vegas sports books who lurk and find pleasure in watching guys lose big bucks. Makes them feel good about themselves. They wish they had the cash to bet so their envy forces them into actually rooting for those who bet to lose.

Must suck for Scrapper to see so many of us winning thousands of dollars. but the first time we lose he will be in here thumping his Hillary 2020 shirt wearing chest

I disagree on the talent comment

I think pure talent , Russel has a higher roof than Luck, so does Ben

    Not to mention Brady, Rodgers...

Yeah, I think you're way off. Respectfully, of course. Ben is one of the most overrated quarterbacks in the league today (not legacy, but talent). Your argument against Andrew Luck is similar to me asking you "if Kobe is so good, why couldn't he make the finals" when he had Kwame and Smush Parker

Look at this analysis of Big Ben, who PFF listed as the Steelers' top liability:
"This can be firmly counted among things I didn’t expect to be the case in 2016, but Ben Roethlisberger has been a problem for the Steelers at times this season. His overall grade in 2015 was 93.5, third in the NFL; this year, it has slipped to just 80.5, his lowest since the 2008 season.

It’s not that Roethlisberger has just been consistently worse, it’s that his season has been a series of inconsistent swings. He has seven games this season with a grade of 80.0 or higher, but four games with a grade under 50.0, including one mark of 31.4, and one more at 51.6.

Roethlisberger has thrown five interceptions in his last three games, eight in his last five and nine in his last six. He has been a major turnover machine in that time span. In some of those games, he has been able to offset those turnovers with big plays and production, but in others, he hasn’t.

Against the Miami Dolphins, we saw the swings in his play in quick sequence. For instance, he threw the ball directly to a defensive lineman dropping into coverage, only to see it end up as a completed pass when the defender couldn’t bring it in; next he was able to make a nice play by avoiding traffic in the pocket and hitting his receiver across the middle—only to see that pass dropped and intercepted.

Right now, the Steelers have the league’s best offensive line. They also have Le’Veon Bell running the ball well, and a defense that is rounding into form. They are a team that suddenly looks very hard to find a weakness on, but all of a sudden, they have a QB capable of losing them the game with poor decisions and costly turnovers.

No quarterback has been kept clean as often as Ben Roethlisberger this season, with 77.0 percent of his dropbacks seeing him clean in the pocket. Including the playoffs, though, he has now thrown 11 interceptions without pressure being a factor, and those plays can be the difference in the postseason when games are tight."

So there you have it. As blessed as he is to have an amazing line and amazing skill players, he's underperforming. On the flip side of the coin, the Colts literally went from a 2-14 season prior to Luck, to a 10-6 team in his rookie year!

And I actually went in and looked at the final PFF rankings on the season. Luck finished fourth; A-Rod surpassed him in the finals weeks of the season. Brady was 1, Ryan was 2, Rodgers 3, and Luck 4. Look at how bad of a year Russell Wilson had this season (for his own standards) and remember that he still had more than Andrew Luck did. Then appreciate his accomplishments because 99% of the league couldn't do what Luck did w what he has.

Kobe was one of the most over-rated players ever. Sort of a similar player to Rothlisburger. Right place right time, good player= a legend is born. Kobes skill set was good the shots he took were not good. His most redeeming quality was his defense up until the later part of his career but he was never the most valuable player in the league. Making tough shots is a skill set, but he was more jamal crawford than lebron james

Fair enough, but I hate looking at numbers like that

I rate talent on max capacity with max focus, when I saw Kobe in his first year I saw he will be top 3 players of all time because his roof was as high as anyone not named Michael Jordan, I saw that in his first year, by watching him play, but thats a non descript thing, I couldnt really explain to others what I'm seeing

FFS i never knew Moraga had a concussion issue after the JB fight, that will explain why he was so tentative against the Brazilian. If i'd have known that i would have hammered Sergio. I always fade fighters coming back from concussion issues (Brown), broken noses (real bad ones like Rory) or busted jaws (Stahl).

No one actually cares about NFL. There are more important issues to discuss here.

Never contributing to the forum and sending insulting, threatening PM's to members (Jack Scrapper) = fine (no warning, no yellow card, no ban)

Never contributing to the forum but starting arguments for no reason (AffectEffect) = fine (no warning, no yellow, no ban)

Constantly fighter bashing and making insulting, derogatory comments (Officer Brown) = fine (no warning, no yellow, no ban)

Contributing to the thread everyday, posting bets, and winning overall but being a silly goose and arguing back to the members who start arguments for no reason like the ones mentioned above = instant yellow and ban for only Robbie, not other members who do the same
