Unknown great songs from the past

There is a whole world of music out there most never listen to and they should. I'm talking about old pre 1940 blues or.....prewar blues.

There are eight regions...

Mississippi Delta (all of Miss ends up here)
Memphis
Texas
Louisiana
St. Louis
Alabama
Georgia
Piedmont/East Coast

....each with a dozen or so artists that best represent that region.

We can toss in Appalachian and paleface blues.

Bill Wyman (Stones fame) has a book Blues Odyssey, it covers it all from the slave trade to The Rolling Stones and everything in between, I highly recommend this read.

Ishman Bracey was a buddy of Tommy Johnson (black dude in Oh Brother Where Art Thou played by Chris Thomas King) he is one of the best examples of them old blues....

Some legends....

Ma Rainey
Bessie Smith
Blind Lemon Jefferson
Charley Patton
Lonnie Johnson
Memphis Minnie
Robert Johnson
Blind Blake
Blind Willie McTell
Victoria Spivey
Big Bill Broonzy
Leroy Carr
Gus Cannon Jug Stompers
Frank Hutchison
Dock Boggs
