Let me break my Saturday down. I wake up and hit the trail with my bike – tame, mostly cruising; I get home, shower, and make myself coffee. Fast-forward to the evening and I played the whole day. I felt at the same time the happiest man in the world and a complete loser.

Convoluted nav or story? Never played that one.
You do A LOT of roaming around looking for where to go or what to do. That's pretty much all it is. It gets a little easier once you figure out the puzzle mechanics. There is no map and no hud. The game doesn't hold your hand at all. Also if you die 8 times apparently you have to start over.

Pretty sure it was a ruse in the end, it was to make you feel like her during the game, anxiety like almost

Yeah, I think that ended up not being true, and was more of a marketing ploy. A marketing ploy that apparently backfired, as some blame it's low sales on that alleged feature.

Yeah I definitely died more than 8 times but I played it on easy. Aside from one part I can remember where I died a bunch because I didn't understand what I was supposed to do and it turned out to be really simple I didn't really die much though. You can't walk off cliffs or miss jumps or anything like that. Combat is pretty basic too and doesn't happen much.

My main issue with the game was the combat was boring as hell. Which is surprising considering some of the past action games they've made. The audio though was second to none and I enjoyed the hell out of it with headphones on.

Yeah, the combat was serviceable, but they went overboard with it in some areas. There's really only a few counters and attacks, and all the fights pretty much play out the same way depending on the three or four enemy types you're fighting. Near the end, I almost quit a section that just relentlessly spammed the same three goon mobs over and over and over. I didn't even die, I was just annoyed. It's one of those sections where you start talking to the game and threatening it...

"One more fucking trash mob, and I'm out! You hear me, game?!?"

LOL

Yakuza Kiwami 2

Just discovered the gravure photo game.

The porn industry has just taken a massive hit.

Beat God of War and just have to say damn what an ending, very glad I came back and finished the story. That's 2/3 games on my previous post of games saying I wanted to finish up. Last up is definitely the hardest in Bloodborne.

Also picked up and played through Black Mesa. Amazing game and I can see how Half Life revolutionized gaming when it came out. The Gonarch boss battle might be one of the best in my gaming history. Must play for all FPS fans.

Started control which I got from humble bundle last month. And just cause 4 which was free on epic

Also wwe 2k battlegrounds also in the same bundle as control.
Control is amazing. The gameplay and atmosphere are both 10/10 for me. Nothing is as satisfying as launching big objects at enemies, excusing the guys in the chairs, they are a pain in the ass.

I originally bought this for my PS4 pro - but didn't play the DLC; but I am a sucker/enjoyed it too much, thus bought it again (Ultimate Edition) for my PS5. Will definitely replay it at some point

Having a lot of fun with Returnal, but the long runs...

I have been taking a small break with playing Sackboy lol. It is fun; although, not as epic as LBP was for the PS3

No spoilers but did you go back to your hut from the beginning after you completed God of War? If not i recommend doing so.

I'm way late on this but I started playing Darksiders. I am really liking this game a lot. I got part 2 as well. I also got the 1st 3 God of War games.

I probably bought like 50 PS3 games this past month or so off eBay.

After I beat the Darksiders games, I'm going to play the God of Wars to compare which I like better.

My genre of games will always be hack and slash. Games are getting too complicated for me. Too many button combinations to do things that you need to do.. Just Cause 2 was one of those overly complicated games for me.. Hold that button while pressing this while steering just to do 1 stupid move and there seems to be a ton of that BS in newer games.. Can't remember it all.. And I can't figure out how to lock on a MFer..

With Darksiders, you run/jump around and mash the square button...

Life is Strange 2 (All Episodes):

Well what can I say about this game, other than it would be better if it wasnt a "game" at all. The team did a wonderful job with the small character moments and some of the character writing. The moments of tranquillity with nice acoustic guitars playing whilst the time just passes away, the feel and atmosphere is really well done. The production values are greater than the LIS 1 and LIS:BTS.

BUT its still a shitty game, and a mediocre walking sim. The first game a nice "rewind" time mechanic that added to the story and gameplay but this had a "sit down and draw" mechanic as its main gameplay feature? BOOOOOO.

The story is damn outrageous and makes no damn sense. Every escalating moment is overly dramatic, and doesnt take any logic into account. Any "choice" you make is miniscule and doesnt really affect the damn story in any meaningful way and they throw this right in our face with "Bae over Bay" being the cannon from the first game, when "Bay over Bae" was the canon in the first game (imo). This mightve been better as a short Netflix series (which would have been panned across the board). The endings make no sense. Some of the issues it tries to tackle is so damn in line with current political bullshit. Fantastic take on border issues and general racism, Deck Nine. I bet they were patting themselves on the back when they wrote this shit. Its so poorly done and artificial, that it wouldve been better if they didnt try at all. Its insulting at how poor the execution is.

Play this if youre a fan of the small character moments from the older LIS games, but dont expect this to be as good as the first, and maybe worse than the mediocre LIS:BtS. If youre not, stay away. Logic is not your friend in this game. Its hard to suspend your disbelief when the overall writing is poor to mediocre in most aspects.

5/10.

Definitely gonna avoid the third game if these guys are making it.

EDIT: And they thought Id forget about the terrible sound design. Its like the mixing work is terrible. The foley work is amateurish. All the dialogue sound as if theyre done in a completely different environment to the actual environment. Its distracting. Just boooooooo. Hades can have one genius sound artist do nearly all the sound design and VO for the main character (and some side characters), but a team fails to do half as good a job. Booo.

I honestly have no idea why the life is strange devs wanted to make a butterfly effect themed game "where every action has consequences" and then barely implement any deviating cutscenes at all. Every version fails at their big premise.

It's also not an expensive gameplay mechanic. You include a few dialogue trees, record a handful of V.O. answers from your stock characters and then create (at least) two different cutscenes later in the level to reflect a choice made. They couldn't even do that consistently.

A choose your own adventure book from your local library made in the 80s had more design than these games. Even watching the latest footage is frustrating, never mind how frustrating it would be to pay full price and watch your personal playthrough do nothing to the story

Started Fallen Order today.

Haven't played much as i'm quite tired but decided to see what Grand Master was like and it's not too bad so far, unless i miss a parry and get killed in 2-3 hits (1 by some enemies).

Did all i could on planet #1 with the abilities i have currently and then found a mini boss at the end of the level that said "lightsaber resistant" or something like that, but me being stubborn couldn't walk away until i'd killed it.

Choice of 2 planets next, main objective planet or red planet with a cool name so i chose the cool planet. I feel like i wasn't supposed to because enemies on this planet hurt a lot and they take a lot of damage. Either way i cleared the planet up to where i couldn't progress without some sort of double jump(?)... who knows, but hey i found a double lightsaber so that's a plus.

On to the main objective planet and thinks are weak here compared to the red planet so i have i feeling i did the hard planet first by mistake, oh well.

Will continue my quest tomorrow when i've slept.

@jojoRed Liking it so far, good call.
