Is anyone going to answer any of these, or is it just one of those "throw out questions and no one wants to answer" type things? Alright, let's get down to it then:
Alonzo Meinfeld
Dalcha Lungiambula
Luke Sanders
Thomas Almeida
Alonzo Menifield is fighting at UFC 250 on June 6 against Devin Clark
Dalcha Lungiambula has only been inactive for about six months, lost by knockout to Magomed Ankalaev so it's not uncommon for fighters that suffer their first knockout to take some time off
Luke Sanders broke up with his high-profile girlfriend Becky Lynch, and has been waiting for the UFC to schedule his next fight
Thomas Almeida has had major vision problems following multiple knockout losses. He got eye surgery and he's still recovering.
Wesley Correira retired in 08, came back to fight in his native Hawaii four times, and his last fight was a loss to (I think former) UFC heavyweight Daniel Spitz. He had a fight scheduled for February this year but pulled out.
Dwayne Cason is probably still doing pushups somewhere. According to the internet, he's an elementary school teacher in Arizona.
Scott Smith retired one fight after leaving SF since the UFC didn't re-sign him. Three years later (in 2016), he came back and lost by knockout. He should be about five years sober by now hopefully. He just turned 40 yesterday so I wouldn't rule out another fight.
Where the fuck is Magomed Shikshabekov?
Magomed Shikshabekov hasn't fought since 2012, sometimes fighters from those regions just disappear. Some fighters don't take that first loss well, and he had visa issues in the past so he's probably not about to fight stateside.
That Russian guy who did the tornado kick.
Adam Khaliev? He was supposed to fight in the UFC in 2014 but he couldn't get medically cleared. He was supposed to be in a lengthy rehab program but he bailed on it. The UFC still has him on the roster spot, and he sparked a fighter who's never won a fight in like 15 seconds in December. Don't be surprised if we see him in the UFC before it's all over.
Renato Sobral retired from MMA in 2013, but he's been engaging in many grappling competitions as of late. Last competed on a major stage at Quintet Ultra in December as part of the Strikeforce team, where he rolled with Clay Guida. He's also discussed that he is struggling with CTE so he's not going to fight in MMA again.
TJ Grant suffered massive concussion issues and had to retire. He works in Canada as a potassium (potash) miner, because he wasn't making enough money as a fighter.
This guy was a #1 ranked fighter in 2 weight divisions. He was top 3 for an entire decade, yet I almost never see him mentioned anywhere.
Mamoru Yamaguchi last competed in May 2019, and is currently on a three-fight skid. Doesn't appear to be retired, and is still involved in the Mobstyles Tokyo apparel line. One of the all-time great flyweights that people totally overlook because he lost to Formiga in Tachi.
Ivan Menjivar (last I heard he was driving buses, this was years ago).
Paul Sass, signed to Bellator in the tournament era then just disappeared. I wanted a fight with him vs Held so badly.
Ivan Menjivar left the UFC in 2014 and never took another fight. He's a regular coach now at Academie SGS in Canada, and is involved in the BJJ scene as well. Did you know he can
play piano?
Paul Sass is another guy who vanished after 2014. He is still active in the sport and trains with Darren Till in Team Kaobon in Britain.
Goran Reljic has dabbled in bare knuckle boxing, but he actually won an MMA fight in March by knockout. He's 36 so don't be surprised if he shows up at some KSW event in the next year or so. Currently on a three-fight finish streak.
