Would be a top 10 hw in today’s era in his prime?

All respect to the guy but he couldn’t complete with the heavyweights of today

Why was this moved? Mma secret police at it again

Fact is we don't know and will never know. We don't know if Muhammad Ali could beat prime Tyson (probably) or prime Klitschko (probably not) either. He's still considered the goat though

He's partly considered the GOAT becausen of his mouth though, if Conor was able to string together a few title defenses he'd be looked at as the GOAT for sure.

Cause today's era of HW isn't as good as it was when Fedor was in Pride and Strikeforce.

He could, great explosiveness, good grappling, gnp, bottom game, kickboxing. Stipe would beat him though. Fedor can’t take him down and Stipe has good enough boxing defence to catch him on a counter. Golden gloves national quarter finals will give you better fundamentals than that copycat dutch kickboxing style they teach you at Combat Sambo. Fedor brawled a lot in stand up trying to overwhelm opponents. Doesn’t really work at the highest level, you get countered.

Sheer opinion, unless they fight...impossible due to a thing we call time.

Why do we pretend like we know what would happen if a dominant fighter from years ago was around today? What's the point of this biased hypothetical bs? I don't like Fedor either but this is just stupid.

Certain guys in certain sports just come around and happen to be in the right place at the right time and get a reputation as the greatest and when that happens it's often unshakable. Both Fedor and Ali fit in there. So does Joe Montana. Even though Tom Brady has surpassed Montana in every imaginable area there's still a huge number of people that think of Montana as the greatest. It's a rose colored glasses thing.

I do think mma has definitely evolved quite a bit from 2005-ish when Fedor was tearing it up

he's considered the GOAT because he defeated every top HW in his era in what is considered the golden age of boxing. his talking wouldn't mean shit if he was losing to everyone.

If Fedor came along today he too would be more evolved than he was during his prime. Ngannou could KO Fedor but Fedor could also KO him. All I'm saying none of those guys would overwhelmingly better than Fedor. Fedor would be contending for the title just like ngannou, Overeem, Lewis, JDS, and anybody else.

it's not really rose colored glasses. the NFL that Brady plays in isn't even the same game that Montana played in. guys were getting absolutely trashed from blindside tackles and such in Montana's era.

same with Fedor, how good would the UFC roster be if the 1st rd was 10 minutes long and guys were allowed to soccer kick downed opponents and use steroids freely? you can't really compare. how good would Fedor be in a cage with 5 minute rds and elbows? you can't really know. you can guess and have an opinion on it, but to act like you'd know for sure is just ignorance.

Sounds right, if you are the best around, why change what works?
He was the best, for the longest, by far.

I'm certainly not a Fedor fan or a Fedor=GOAT truther.....but.....Prime Fedor KO's almost all of the current HW division with his superior speed, athleticism, and power.

You are not a part of "WE" yet rookie.

When you become a full blooded Sherdoger, only then will you understand the greatness of the one true Emperor.
