There was a guy with a sniper gun doing this to me as well. Wasn't a fan of it honestly but hopefully they make adjustments.

There’s no SBMM, so I won’t play it.
Dominating lower skilled players, or getting wrecked by higher skilled players, isn’t fun for me. There’s no feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day.

Well, I found out Blitz's shield is in the game, so I'm back in.

After multiple delays, a test server starts tomorrow.

I can't comment on the gun play, because I suck. But, I can comment on the Blitz shield. If you're a Blitz main in Siege, you'll fucking love his shield in XDefiant.
Either the hit boxes are still messed up, or the shield has a very small melee cone.
I'm not seeing very many people run the Blitz shield, and the people that try are bad at it. Most don't know how to counter it either, you deal with them the same way as in Siege, shoot the legs. Or you can run a Cleaner and mag dump into the shield, and hope the incendiary bullets do enough damage.

I have been having minor desync issues, but it's a test server, so I'd assume that gets fixed before release.

Nice! Appreciate the update.

Yeah, I'm not holding out much hope, though. I'm pretty jaded now when it comes to online gaming. The cheater situation has gotten out of control.

So, the game is coming out in a couple weeks. I went to YouTube to get caught up, and the most recent trailer from Ubisoft I could find was from a year ago. Weird. Looks fun as hell, though.

Ubisoft is horrible at communicating with the community.

This project's endured both production bumps and false starts not unlike Skull & Bones, iirc, leaving target segment in the dark, I think. Ubi has always excelled at marketing collateral like trailers so it's wild to me the one thing they're good at, they're not doing here. Interesting catch.

I think there being a new title in the general FPS space to be pretty exciting, though; definitely got my eyes on game reception and performance.

Ubi 's marketing team has been shit the past 4 years. A lot of the most recent Siege season releases have been absolutely terrible. There's little to no info on when the patches drop. They're not even communicating with the biggest content creators for when patches drop, if they get pushed back, etc. I don't know if it's a French thing, but the way Ubi deals with its community is frustrating.

It can't be worse than Hyper Scape or Extraction. One is dead, and the other has 87 current players.

That’s comms though like you’d originally said; with that, fully agree. I mention specifically marketing collateral, where Ubi has long produced graphics or trailers much cooler than the games themselves. Following Clark’s observation of lack of trailer to galvanise the upcoming launch, I commented that was surprising because it’s one of the only things Ubi does well.

Having content creators create content is marketing, though. That's especially true for live service games like Siege. You need to be in contact with them so they can release their day 1 videos showing off the new operator, map, cosmetics, etc so the players consuming their content will whip out their wallets.
There's been times when they've known the new season was going to be delayed weeks out, but content creators don't find out until Ubi releases a Tweet announcing it the day before.

There was a rumor that Ubi drastically cut their art department budget for Siege about a year ago. It might have been across the board.

They've put out some bangers. This was a masterpiece.
