props to him. hope he gets a more winnable fight next
lol @ "breaks his silence"
So melodramatic. Like the "world" was waiting to hear what he had to say
”Honestly, I didn’t expect that,” Barboza admits. “He walked backwards in all of his previous fights before he went for takedowns. I was prepared for it, but I thought he would do what he always did, to avoid the striking. It surprised me that he moved forward.”
Props to Edson. He got absolutely demolished. But He'll be back Amazing fighter.
Thanks dude!nice avatar
yup he beats tony in the rematchHe is still legit a top 5, I rewatched the Tony fight and that upkick really killed his momentum, I would like to see a rematch
I knew this was a easy fight for Khabib, they gave him a guy with terrible takedown defense and ground game. It might even be that terrible but once he hits the ground he breaks.
Statistically top 5 TDD all time at lw, but sure his TDD is terrible.I knew this was a easy fight for Khabib, they gave him a guy with terrible takedown defense and ground game. It might even be that terrible but once he hits the ground he breaks.
Lol. I never say this online but god what an idiot. His whole post is pure shite but I don’t think he’s trolling"Terrible takedown defense". In what fights did he show that terrible TDD?

He’s actually one of the best in the division at popping back up. He did in multiple times against khabib but khabib may by the very best at holding people in this positiomsI'm somewhat baffled by him expecting Khabib not to come forward.
He and his coaches should know by this point that him being pressured is a weakness of his. It was obvious even before the Khabib bout. Plus his boxing isn't anything incredible, but rather rudimentary.
Take a way his space to operate, and deliver kicks, and he's much less effective. This is beating Barboza 101 stuff.
He needs to also learn how to pop back up when he has the space to. He had opportunities to do exactly that, and he just didn't take them.
That said, Edson did show some incredible heart and endured quite a bit. So props to him for that. He's a tough fighter.
yeah 'popping back up' is a good skill, should be the first thing strikers learn imo, but it only works until it doesnt. He’s actually one of the best in the division at popping back up. He did in multiple times against khabib but khabib may by the very best at holding people in this positioms

Yeah that’s true. He’s improved in a lot of those areas as well under Mark Henry but you have to be lights out for someone like Khabib.yeah 'popping back up' is a good skill, should be the first thing strikers learn imo, but it only works until it doesnt.
when it doesnt, you gotta have a ground game. if nothing else, he needed better footwork to avoid the constant pressure. i would recommend a lot of fundamental boxing lessons tbh. gotta be able to move laterally on a dime.
in his defense he looked tired and/or rocked for the entirety of the time he was on his feet after the first round. he just couldnt cut any angles defensively at all, he stumbled away, eventually getting swallowed up by the fence and khabib's clinch.
