Robert Whittaker hasn't been in an actual UFC Championship Fight, but has been champ for 2 years

Shit just happened and tension is high give it some time and all will be good.

I still remember people calling for Nunes head for her sinus pull out and look at her now.

Goofs talking about GSP cause he showed up to cherry-pick freaking Bisping lol.

Robert went 50 minutes with that monster he let pieces of him inside those cages, both of them did.

I agree overtime things will settle down, but in the heat of the moment though, Robert's going to face some backlash, and unfortunately it's arguably justifiable. Two pull outs in two title fights is not a good look.

People were calling for Max to hang it up after he pulled out two times, and I feel people are going to be weary about Whittaker fights going forward, especially in his OWN DAMN COUNTRY!

Mw divison meeds adesanya to be champ. Hes active as fuck

I've had a hernia, the thing that pisses me off is the extreme unlikelihood that this is a new thing.

Why in holy fuck did he wait until now to go to the doctor or bring this up?

I would bet my left nut he didn't magically get a hernia after weigh ins on fight day (when guys are generally relaxing).

So we all know that Robert Whittaker got that Interim UFC Championship belt by beating Yoel Romero.

Michael Bisping who was the actual champion, lost his belt to GSP.

GSP, not wanting to hold the division up, vacated his belt after finding out that he had health issues related to colitis.

Robert Whittaker then got promoted up to actual official UFC Champion.

Robert Whittaker fought Yoel Romero in a non-title fight though it was not his fault, since Yoel Romero missed weight. The belt was never on the line.

And now, Robert Whittaker has pulled out last minute, from his fight against Kelvin Gastelum.

This means that despite being champion for about 2 years, Robert Whittaker still hasn't been in an official UFC Championship Fight... and the irony is extra large since the real Champion- GSP, didn't want to hold up the division...

"Health issues related to Colitis"

LOL GSP sack lickers are a special bunch, in full delusion mode.

He ducked because he was afraid of the health issues he'd have after facing legit contenders.

Same thing he did with Silva, years back.

He’s probably the least known champion right now, I think even Cejudo might be known by more casuals

I believe it is a sports hernia, it's completely different from a regular hernia (happens in your groin). I suffered a sports hernia when I was training for motocross. The only dr at the time that knew how to fix them was up north by New Jersey (I live in Louisiana). I had to board a plan and fly up north to have the surgery. He was the number one Dr that performed sports hernia surgery on all the pro athletes. It bugged me for 4 years before I had to have it fixed, If Robert has a sports hernia, then there is no way he can fight, I would know.

MW has been held up since Bisping KOd Rockhold.
Except Bisping actually defended it against Hendo, and then recovered from his injury and put it on the line against GSP, and lost.

Whittaker never won the belt in a championship fight, and hasn't defended it ever.

He should relinquish the title and give it back to the rightful MW champ GSP.

Once again you make some good points, even though we're on different sides of the argument.

So, fuck u anyways bruh :D

He's fought twice in those 2 years though. Your wording it in a way to make it sound like he's holding up the division when that's just not the case.

Hey at least Conor shows up to his fights... that's one thing no one can knock Conor for... the guy always shows up regardless.

Honestly, I feel like if this was him headlining in Dublin, he'd rather die than not fight in front of his home country, in front of his own people. He would have made that walk, and toughed it out. He loves his country that much.

I'm sure Robert loves Australia, but this will be his SECOND TIME!

Exactly!

You nailed it. Unless the doctor said "No, absolutely NOT happening"... or the overlooking commission denied him... he should have made the walk. It is in his country, he's the main event... tons of fans have put their hard earned money and probably flown across cities to watch their hometown hero fight...

and he pulls out last minute...again

UFC needs to stop coddling its champions, this is getting ridiculous. Strip Whittaker now, middleweight has been a shit show for long enough.
