UFN 146 on ESPN+ 4 Lewis vs Dos Santos

I'm not going to disagree I don't want to touch the fight, although if I was forced to choose a winner without a regard for odds, I'd favour Omari.

I appreciate his honesty but yeah you definitely need to try to read between the lines on what they're saying as best as possible. I would have appreciated a reference to Georges "dark place" there haha

Trying to read between the lines is exactly what Stunna is saying is the problem with listening to interviews. That, and the literal interview itself. Time and again, words fall flat. Mickey's camp had sparkling reviews, that he had worked with wrestlers and his striking was now the next level, or whatever. It's all shit unless it lines up with your particular view on the fight. (Not you you, but you get what I mean). Even all the talk and keyboard psychology about Holloway leading up his Ortega fight...cost a lot of guys here some coin.

i don't listen to interviews ever; certainly not for betting purposes. Who sits through hours of that content for the usual tough man answers like "i'm happy wherever the fight goes" "I'm looking to finish" "not looking beyond this fight" etc. It's tiresome and how many times do you need to be burnt by a wrestler who has obviously fallen in love with his hands (according to actually watching fights) say "i'm getting back to my roots" only to strike for 15 mins again. Interviews would help capping fights less than 5% of the time IMO

I'll be honest, I don't even know what interview your comment is in relation to; I've just never found them of any assistance breaking it down further than I already can by watching fights. Do people find this productive? Not knocking anyone's strategy if it works, just surely a better use of time?

My boy @Card posts all them interviews and you just scroll on by huh?

Sometimes you get useful information such as training partners, illnesses, training camp changes, reasons for layoffs, etc. Theres a lot to be learned from listening to interviews and also sometimes jack shit. I usually listen while I'm at work.

Mainly a recap of 235 but they cover 2.5 fights on this card (time stamped on the link).

Coles notes:
-both pick JDS emphatically
-they talk about Millenders improvements and worry about the jab but both pick Zaleski
-they just do quick picks for Martin-Moraes, both pick Martin

I'd point to the recent interview I listened to with Usman while I was at work. A short interview isn't going to be of much help, but I think some things can be learned (like mentioned above) from listening to the longer ones. I'd say these guys fighting are less skilful at saying nothing than other athletes. Usman for example was pretty honest about what he was going to do (get in his face, pressure, out wrestle).

I don't watch them, no, but if it's helping others that's great. That's what the forum here should be about and I appreciate Card's effort even if I don't listen/watch them

Ivanov: 25 mins in cage with ex champion was good experience, I had a knee injury before the fight, I took the fight and then 2 tore meniscus after and I had surgery, rehab for 3 months, my focus now is to put more pressure, what I missed last fight, Rothwell will be a tough fight, but he's missed 3 years, it will be tough for him, when you lose, you have to win the next one 100%

Millender: 6 years since I've been a pro, confidence is sky high, make a statement, I'm a huge fight nerd, I watch every fight, I like his style, he's fought a guy I've trained with Strickland, I want to take the summer off

JDS: always looking for the KO, I put the attention on myself, I study my opponent alot but I prepare for myself

Price: I took time off, I had 4 camps, my body was tired, change things in my camp, I bounced around gyms, I have new coaching staff, and changed my nutrition, I feel great, it's going to be violent, cut out sushi, ready to fight now

Means: Last fight I proved I can mix it up, my best fights are when guys are in my face, I'm more technical

I finally bit on JDS over Black Beast at -192. That and the over 2½ at -110. Looking to bet JDS KO and round props as well.

I have never seen this before and I don't know if there is any value what so ever here. All I know is that there is a hot babe with huge tits in the video. Gotta love the influx of hot babes with huge tits in MMA. There's clearly an opening in the market for interviewer/expertise goodlooking chicks in MMA and the best part for them is that they really don't need to know shit lol.

holy shit thank you so much for posting this. absolutely hilarious.

Actually fuck is this Millender v Dos Santos FDNGTD line? 2.3 for a striker fresh off two KOs who should have had a third before that against an elite striker who can't get off his back. Are people expecting Dos Santos to wrestlefuck Millender out of nowhere? Because that's the only way this one goes to a decision, and even then I'd back Dos Santos to get the choke
Zeleski had a bunch of decision wins till recently, same as Millender and they both got good chins. I can see why people think it will be a standup battle for three rounds

Just watched some Akhmedov fights and was reminded again how retarded Vettori‘s chin is... fuck man, no wonder Akhmedov gassed out. I was out of breath just by watching him land all those big shots on Marvin again and again.

Did they talk shit before this fight ? Omari went completely "Just bleeeeed". The last round was not a 10-8 though imo. Akhmedov should have gotten the 29-28 decision.

I can definitely see him hurting Boetsch and pressuring him against the cage for sure. Boetsch can be pushed back for sure. Just hope that he doesn’t punch himself out or gets countered.

Overall I‘m confident that Omari has a solid chin. Some people questioned his chin but he took a good amount of power shots from Razak and Vettori. The only big question is if he is able to manage his energy smarter ?
He's moving up in weight so he shouldn't get as tired throwing those power trikes. I think he gets it done

I see you never bothered to counter my reply to you with any actual analysis. Here you are with the he is old, foot out the door schtick again. You bring up Ed Herman KO'ing Boetsch but not a super green Sergio Moraes who just winged punches with his eyes closed KO'ing Omari?

Don't understand how you can bet a favorite who needs a rd1 finish or a 10-8 round. I guess he could win the first and do enough early in the second to squeak out a decision, but all of that relies on him not getting finished late as he has multiple times. Boetsch is a big 185, former LHW, whereas Omari is a former ww. Omari has needed tds in every one of his UFC fights and is now facing a bigger lifelong wrestler whom stuffed doubles and chains from way better td artists than Omari.
You leave out one inconvenient truth... Boesch is a sloppy, slow wrestler who gets tired. Meanwhile, a prime Akhmedov is putting his soul into every punch he throws, trying to killl you, and not getting tired because his weight cut was easy this time at 185.... If Boetsch wins, I will be seriously shocked.

Do I really want to bet on a guy who throws nothing but power hooks with his head down? Looks like he’s swimming in water.

Boetsch is going to catch him clean if he wants to trade.
Give me the faster, built guy with a Sambo background, who'll be throwing his soul into every punch and trying to kill you all fight long over the sloppy, chubby wrestler who'll be throwing slow, medium power shots or shooting for takedowns all night.
