True, but their argument is his record. And as I said, Rosholt beat better guys and no one in MMA media or the UFC even commented on it that I can remember. Everyone as glad to see him go.

I always try to be fair to the UFC as a company.

In the mma world, Elias belongs in the UFC on merit. There can be no doubt. 8-3 is 8-3. He also won a few more on TUF and was undefeated outside the UFC.

But then there's the company. I can't blame them for not wanting Elias. With success comes bigger fights on a bigger stage. He was given a tremendous opportunity in his last fight, and he gave us an embarrassing performance. My point is: they don't want him to succeed anyway. What is the end game: To one day promote a five-round shitfest on ppv?

Exactly.. 2 sides of the coin.. MMA wise Elias is good enough to be in the UFC.. but if he is not exciting and doesn't make money, why would the UFC want him? He should be free to go to wherever else that wants to pay him. Not like they are blocking him (that I know of).

I wouldn't mind the decision if the UFC was consistent in this. There are fighters who are just as dull with much worse records who have been allowed to stick for a long time, Clay Guida being the prime example.

If they want to start a new trend of releasing fighters based on entertainment factor, I'm all for it, but they need to be consistent.

Which would make at least half of the WMMA rooster gone.
