"So and so said children shouldn't be encouraged to be trans, let's get them fired". The list goes on and on with this nonsense.

No shit. Obama and Trump were both elected for the same reason: People want something different.

The extremists on both sides makes everyone look bad, and no one "wins".

The problem is, some stick with their abusive ex/political party, only to cheat on them with their first abusive ex, when opportunity is convenient. Staying together "For the kids", of course.

Are we capable as a society of handling more than this shit standard we have for officials? Is beating eachother in the streets over ideas ever really gonna work?

I only read a few pages but I didn't see much outrage in it. It was just a dumb commercial with an SJW spin on it.

Tell ya what how about we agree on a middle ground and say that there is some really stupid outrage on both sides. We could argue all day about which side is worse but I can agree that getting overly outraged at pretty mundane things is a waste of time.

20 years ago, not even that long really I'd have called myself a moderate democrat.
I'm all for gay rights, minority rights, womens rights including the right to choose (within reason) etc. etc...

But now, even with those long held democratic beliefs I'm called far right, nazi and the beneficiary of white privilege. Never mind that I have worked hard for what I have, been a decent citizen, never owned a slave and never would but am told I need to pay for what some people wrongly did over 150 years ago...

I know many other turncoats who just can't buy into this modern liberal insanity. And then there's that constant "I just can't believe Trump got elected" rhetoric.....it's crazy.

Yep, I often hear that people become conservative over time. For the most part I think people stay the same and the conservative mark just moves further and further to the left.
 
I think they're making people more politically disengaged rather than creating more right wingers.

People who have been traditionally left but not glued to the news all day (too busy) are now so turned off by the negativity and atmosphere of hostility brought by outrage culture that they have just tuned out of politics.

25% of Americans are politically disengaged now.

People don't like being told what they should say, how they should feel and how they should behave - with a gun to their heads as done by the leftist/democrats.
People will naturally rebel against this. We're human not programmed robots.

The conservatives are the new liberals and the democrats the new fascists.

The conservatives are the ones now maintaining the order in the country from the chaotic democrats. You'd find a lot liberals who were former democrats with same views now voting republican because they're less insane and fascist. Anyone with liberal views who are more centrist or centre left will likely vote for the centre right Republicans because they're closer to their views than the batshit crazy democrats, for the moment.

About 30 years ago Bill Clinton was president, who was also centre right. About 80 years ago FDR was president who would be considered far left today.

I think both far right and left are ridiculous. I dont really like politics either and im smart enough not to let personal feelings get in the way of political beliefs. That being said, I have alot of friends whos views lean left that will never ever be assiciated with anything like it cause of those outrage types.

I hope it doesnt create more republicans. I hope it just brings more people to the sane middle. Sane middle people just dont give a fuck as much as far left/right. We are the sleeping giant. Imagine if we were as outspoken and mobilized together like the extremers. Wed end this shit fairly quickly. But we are busy living our lives.
