Yeah for some strange reason a lot of people seem to think if you hate PC and outrage culture, you must be a conservative, or that if you care about equal rights and hate racism, you must be a liberal. I find these thoughts to be more propaganda than truth. I imagine the people that subscribe to these kinds of views probably spend too much time arguing and circle jerking with fellow political caricatures online.

When you get offline and actually speak to real people, you find out most people have more nuanced views. I'm a small government, freedom-first kind of guy, and the fact that there are complete retards and scumbags who may also feel that way doesn't mean I need to turn into a Bernie Bro socialist.

Without a doubt there is a significant element in the left who find all their strength thru victimhood and would never relinquish that. They are not out for solutions. They are out for battle and want blood. They will just as gladly take the blood of any friendly lefty as any hostile conservative. It does not matter. Just an endless need for blood.

This is a very dangerous and off putting element within the left as they throw up the shield of victimhood to prevent being criticized while simultaneously tearing apart anyone in their path. And the last thing they want is compliance and concession. You cannot apologize your way to peace, you cannot show you have changed as a way to peace.

It is a relatively small part of the left but their rage makes them very loud and their victim status makes them hard to deal with.

I am not sure how the left will deal with it as it does drive all sorts of people away from the left who might otherwise be there.
