Yet a lot of that equipment comes from Ontario because it’s manufactured.

Ontario is the manufacturing home of Canada.


Goodluck though, considering they manufacture fracking pipes in my city (Ontario) as well manufacturing Nuclear Cases for Energy.

Run a Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan type instead of an actual conservative to motivate the turnout and you are going to lose. Canada's new voters make up the difference, just like in the US with states like Virginia.

Nobody in this world, fears Canada as a nation. America keeps its pimp hand strong and would love to accept Canadians into the union. So then the liberals of Canada would have to find money elsewhere
 
We don't always get the government we want, but we get the government we deserve. I'm not buying into the sky is falling rhetoric, there will be winners and losers just like any other outcome. East/West and Left/Right divisions are going to be on steroids for awhile now though.
This coming from a conservative whose business has a good chance of being obliterated with these results.
 
Now that I've had time to digest the results, a few thoughts:

1) Liberal vote share was highly efficient. Conservatives were very inefficient. Winning 68% of the vote in Alberta isn't going to win elections.
2) In the final analysis, the NDP underperformed, despite a late surge. Jagmeet managed to stave off a total collapse but his share of the popular vote was poorer than expected. He came in under 16%, which is pretty weak, frankly.
3) Pipeline might not be dead. The alienation in the prairies is real, and if anyone in the Liberals has half a brain they are going to want to avoid having a real problem with Alberta. They may choose to simply work with the Conservatives on this.
4) Formal coalition is highly unlikely. The Liberals have a strong minority and lots of potential supporters on any issues. They will stick around for 4 years, is my bet.
5) Trudeau and the Liberals are going to own any recession that comes in the next 4 years. People tend to pull rightward when things get shitty. Things are going to get shitty.
