Police shoot 16 year old running away.

Shoot the 16 year olds that threaten your life by running away unarmed lmao

why keep mentioning he's 16 .. that's irrelevant other than to try to make him look 'innocent' because he's young .. I mean, it may be sad for his family because he's young but plenty of teen criminals and killers on the streets .. they just arrested two teens down here for shooting into a party and killing an actual innocent 15 yr old .. usually if you get shot by the police it's because you're up to no good .. innocent people minding their own business usually don't get shot by the police .. usually .. simple as that

it's amazing how much sympathy people show for criminals .. it's kind of disgusting

Especially murderers. I was reading through comments on an article at Facebook someone had shared, and was nothing but 100's(if not 1,000's) of people bashing on the Police, and only once in a while you would see someone mention that this kid was involved in a gang and had murdered someone, and people would reply "That is irrelevant". Irrelevant? That is the reason this incident happened in the first place. This kid and his thug brother were the masters of their own destiny. I am sure the friends and family of the other gangbanger they killed don't feel any sympathy towards him.

The report states that this murder suspect is known to carry guns. The police made this a felony style arrest after being informed suspect could be armed and dangerous. Then the guy reached in his pants while running. Fuck outta here dumbass.
What does this even mean?
"Known to carry guns". So this 16 year old has been caught multiple times carrying guns, no consequences ever happened?

And this line, it's a line I often hear in these cases, and it's stupid. Guns are legal in America. You can't shoot someone because you think they have a gun on them.
You cant justify the cops actions AFTER the fact.

Yes you can under certain conditions. Felony stop of a gangbanger know to carry a gun (illegally) and suspected of murder.

I’m not sure if I would have shot but I only saw a limited view of this.

I’m fine with an investigation by the state police or an outside agency to get it straight.

You can't shoot and kill someone because you think he has a gun, even if he is a known murderer.
Cops are not sanctioned executioners, and gun ownership is LEGAL in America
Cops get away with it because they have other cops and the system on their side

You have to see a clear and present threat to life--actually see a weapon, not "feel" like someone has one before you take lethal action.
There's a cop in this thread that even said this was not a good shoot a couple pages back.

And you would be wrong about most of this post. If you reasonable believe the person has a gun and is reaching for it you can shoot. The key word is resonable. Also not just clean and present threat to life.

As I also stated I would not have shot looking at the video. However I wasn’t there and don’t know everything.

I agree. And that sympathy is partially why these scumbags get away with summary executing ppl on the basis of having a badge.

He probably had an ILLEGAL ounce of weed in his pocket. Which was why he was running from the police.

Serves him right for breaking the law, AMIRITE?
Maybe read the whole story?
Suspected of murder would be my guess why he ran

Did you forget this kid was a murder suspect? That fact combined with reports that he was known to carry guns on his person turned this into a dangerous arrest. It'a much higher risk for an officer. Then the kid turned it up a notch by running from officers at gunpoint. Then he looks back at the officer and reaches into his pants.

This was a textbook good shooting.

Thats why cops tell suspects not to make any sudden movements during traffic stops or interactions. A suspect can reach for a comb and lose his life. Bu bu buh it was just a comb! Yea...unfortunately cops didn't know that. He isn't going to wait for the suspect to show him what he has in his hands first. Officer could be dead by then.

He was pulling his pants up. He wasn't looking back. Murder, cut and dry.

Maybe the police should move away from the term "good shoot"

I do agree it was likely a justified shoot but adding good to it just seems very harsh.. Or cold idk

And you get the luxury of watching the replay 20 times to determine what suspect was doing

He looked back...then reached to pull his pants up. The officer that shot him was behind and off to the side. He didnt have the same view as the camera showed us. His partner was vulnerable while climbing the fence. He made sure he wasn't gonna get shot.

Don't make any sudden moves around cops. This kid ran while making highly suspect moves. Combine that with the rest of the details (murder suspect who could be armed and dangerous) and you have a dangerous tense situation that cops take very seriously.

I have no love for criminals. All I have to base a decision on is what is in this particular video. The guy was running away. Was he armed? When did he supposedly look back at the cops and grab for his waistband? He is pulling up his saggy ass jeans.
The cop that shot him walks into the frame and immediately shoots the guy. Its sloppy work. Cops have to realize that the same camera they use to catch criminals are also recording them. That is all.

Its not a high quality video so i understand. But it happens shortly after he scales the fence and picks up his hat. He turns his head around to the right and looks directly at the officer that ends up shooting him.

Im thinking that officer may have yelled at him him to stop or freeze which got the kids attention briefly.

Well, i'm a human being lol

bury that fuckin cop beneath the prison, and give the kid's father 5 minutes alone with the chief of the department.

Cops don't need to take the risk of giving the benefit of doubt to a suspected murderer who chose to run from a felony arrest.
I got this sweet hack.

Shoot first then claim he was suspected of murder. Works like a charm!

You can also do this overseas. When you kill someone, claim they were suspected ISIS and BOOM you're off Scot free! This hack is tried, tested and mother approved.
