At LHW under Pride rules I would take Wand by TKO/KO.

Don't get me wrong...I was cheering Arona on when he beat Wand, I have nothing against ground fighting.

Do I hespect the fighters who bang it out more than the wrestlers?...yep.

But im a fat heavyweight so that feeling comes kind of naturally.

I do have Big Nog ranked as the #2 all time heavyweight behind Fedor and in front of Mirko.

So one fight proves a fighter is overated? I guess we'll ignore an entire career and based things off one fight then. And how exactly was Mir washed up? He was very much at his best at the point from 2008 to 2011. Neither Mir or Nog were washed up at that point.
 
i picked Nog over Stipe in the other thread.

now i have to pick DC. Stylistically DC is a nightmare for Nog. A prime Nog is the better boxer by far but DC would drag him to the ground with his superior wrestling and i dont see DC ending up in a submission lock with his excellent and suffocating top control.

I would take Big Nog in this one. He wouldn't TKO or Sub DC and visa versa so this fight goes to a decision in a very close fight. Outboxes DC using his jab, length and combinations. I would say would be even and then Nog would out last him in the last two rounds. Nog is a fighter that always gets stronger as fight goes on, can't say the same about DC, it's been mixed.

To this day Nogueira still has one of the greatest resumes in the history of MMA. You're an idiot.

Except for the fact that since the organization dissolved 5 different PRIDE fighters went on to become UFC champions (Nogueira, Werdum, Rampage, Shogun, and Anderson) while on the flip side almost every UFC champion at the time (Sylvia, Liddell, Franklin, Hughes, and Sherk) was run out of the league by PRIDE fighters (Nogueira/Fedor, Rampage, and Anderson).

And PRIDE didn't even have a 170 pound division so there was nobody to even challenge Hughes.
 
Imo The only guys that beat DC in their prime are fedor and mirko, whom i feel is just tailor made to beat DC like he did to josh.

U think those fighters where better than dc fought? He was beaten by frank mir .mir who had a bike accident.. u idiots think nog was better than mir too right?even though mir beat him 2x?please say yes idiot
 
Nog by solid UD or a submission is possible with how sloppy DCs mat game and mediocre his top game is. DC doesn't have the speed, technique of Fedor or the skills to transition from striking to grappling which is what really have him issues. Daniel is plodding, terrible defensively, has a basic Jan that he'd counter over and Nog actually had a solid clinch game. He'd outbox him and maybe take a submission depends on how grappling goes

Nog fought Mir after having like 30 fights.

He also was basically a zombie when they fought.

Nog's competition at HW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DCs.
