(A) What does this have to do with anything?
(B) If I completely own you for four rounds, that's not an indication that I'm having any particular difficulty with you.
(C) So if you have a guy who is getting his brain scrambled, and lands a one-shot Hail Mary at the end of the first round, you'd say that person had an easier time with someone who used their opponent as a ragdoll for four rounds before getting them to tap?

Same my man. Never got the boring part - he has such a unique style and is always a split second from ending it in spectacular fashion, was always my favorite fighter. I think when you've seen enough MMA the generic wrestler-who-learned-overhand-rights just becomes mind numbing...guys like Machida are what makes MMA interesting. I still feel Machida/Shogun 1 is the highest skill level MMA fight of all time.

I kinda wish he had retired awhile ago though and moved on to mentor the next generation of Machida Karate MMA fighters.

Khabib was never going to get that kimura finished from that position. They were up against the cage so there wasn't a whole lot of room for him to step over the head to really finish it off.

Khabib should fight Conor again... if Conor manages to get another good win over a top 5 opponent. If given another opportunity I don't think Conor will waste it like he did last time. I don't believe that fight was the best version of Conor. It was no secret or surprise that he was living a party lifestyle. It seems as though Conor has shifted his focus more on fighting and trying to be a good role model for his son. I think if given the rematch he will come in much better prepared and in better condition.

Will it change the result? Probably not. Styles make fights and Khabib's style is perfect against someone like Conor. If Conor comes out and puts on a good performance against one of the top 5 ranked LWs (Dustin, Ferguson or Hooker) and gets the win are you saying he wouldn't deserve the title shot - or that you also wouldn't want to watch it?

I think Conor does want the rematch. He probably also thinks he can win.

In just over 3 years he went from being some no name fighter to one of the biggest stars in the sporting world. He didn't deal with that very well and enjoyed the new lifestyle a bit too much. I don't think his first fight with Khabib was the best performance he could have put on. I was actually surprised at how well he defended the takedowns initially... I was expecting him to go down without any resistance.

I'm by no means a "Dumbfuck Conortard" (if that is a thing) but I do think he would perform better in a rematch. I don't think the end result would be much different... perhaps a decision rather than a submission but I think Khabib still wins.
