Strange deflection has taken over the thread; that protests over police brutality against black people are invalid because of interracial murder stats. Besides being a dead giveaway of a white supremacist mindset, it's not a valid line of argument.

Its not a racial problem, its a broader problem with the police in the US. White people are treated unjustly by the police all the time. The officers who killed Tony Timpa (white guy who was killed by police in pretty much the exact same circumstances as George Floyd, although in this case the police officers actually make jokes about him dying - all caught on camera) are back working.

However, instead of making it about the bigger problem that is unchecked police brutality towards EVERYONE, protesters want to make it into an issue of racism. If you want to tell me I need to listen to you about white on black racism and violence, I am not going to take you seriously until you are also willing to talk about black on white violence.

Its not that it invalids animosity towards police brutality, it begs the question that why aren't white people more mad about the interracial murder stats? Why aren't there protests and looting over that?

White people do not broadly feel mistreated to the point of these historical and current socioeconomic race-based grievances. Who would they riot and loot against? Who would they protest? Doesn't make any sense. There is no question there that begs for an answer. It's an impulsive show of racial resentment and fear. It also distracts from the discussion, which must be part of the point. And of course, these things serve as good cover for racists to let out their anxieties.

Are the black people engaging in criminality not responsible for their own behaviour? The looting, burning and violence from blacks is justified and should be overlooked because some white idiots are causing problems? There are certainly white people involved, but lefties trying to shift all of the blame on the absolute stupidity taking place in the United States right now is ridiculous. Everyone involved in the violence and destruction, regardless of race, should be held accountable for their actions. Making excuses and shifting the blame for violent black people is not helping anybody. The biggest problem in America regarding race-relations is the soft bigotry of low expectations. The Left in particular believe that blacks are not capable of being better. This is just another example. Blacks cannot be held accountable for their involvement in the riots and looting because, apparently, some white people started it. Bigotry of low expectations.

I think she is trying to combat the narrative that this is all being done by black people. All groups have contributed in this. Black people, white people, brown people, police officers, politicians, antifa, blm, thugs & criminals, and the media have all played their part in this.

Its really important that we be mature and thoughtful in how we sort all this out as a nation. If we aren't careful everyone is going to pick sides and groups while all just hate and blame each other. Theres plenty of blame and grievance to go around right now.

the propaganda that she is spewing is very dangerous. We have mob mentality right now. No one can tell the difference between a white male protester, white Antifa, or a white supremacist.

By stereotyping one subset of one group it is putting white Male protesters And journalists in danger To random acts of violence as we have seen in these videos.
Not only does this alienate a group and put them in danger but it also hurts the protest movement (as the movement becomes less inclusive)
