People just get upset at him being overrated and his fans excusing his losses with a million excuses he gives them. Most don’t think he’s a bad fighter. That and skipping the line crap, multiple retirements, entitlement etc. Him retiring after Khabib then fighting Cerrone after chasing Edgar and Sanchez instead of Gaethje who was begging for a rematch , shyt like that. Saying Khabib is “ducking” him when he has nothing to prove etc.
Conors a damn good fighter though make no mistake about it. I’ll still be rooting for Poirier because he acts with more logic and reason. Won’t be calling Khabib a duck when he already got beat.
all great champions skip the line in prizefighting. Floyd skipped not one but two weight classes. To fight Delahoya at 147. He was 135 lb champ.
no boxing fans cried as they have perspective on the sport.
This happens all the time. For 100 years. Gsp didn’t want to. Anderson didn’t. Jones did. Adasanya is now.
when you’re a dominant fighter you don’t wait for some ham and egger to take your spot. You’re the man. When you move up you get the shot.
Ray Leonard retired a lot ali. Floyd. Khabib doing the same thing. It’s a negotiation tactic. As men do when they are fighting for prizes.
I like poirer and I’m fine if he wins. He’s an exciting fighter. Conor is but I like his fighting style more.
I’m not voting a cage fighter for world views or policy. I’m fans based off what I like to see them do. Which in the ufc is fighting in the cage.
Mma fans are very weird. They have to be very young. To watch a sport of fighting in a cage. And what takes place out of the cage makes one a fan.
but guys like Conor live off that. Love him or hate him equals more money.
I’m just hoping for more than 2 rounds. I’m rooting for Connor. But it’s entertainment and it means nothing to me personally.
it’s just for fun and I love the sports
