Why does Conor not engage in grappling

He should of clinched with dustin more to give the leg some rest bite, he was winning the clinch and cracking him with hard shoulder strikes.
Yes that’s what any other fighter with durability would do, grapple and get a breather. Poor Conor grapples and gasses, I don’t understand how? It’s fairly easy to engage in grappling and find a resting point.

Because he sucks at grappling. He probably treats his fights like a boxing match now. I guess someone forgot to tell him Poirier isn't wearing 10 oz gloves and isn't Floyd Mayweather. Huge paydays do weird things to people.
He sucks at grappling? I thought SBG was originally a BJJ gym and Kav came from a BJJ background, you would’ve thought that would reflect on his students wouldn’t you.

>Outgrappled Nate

You can’t be this stupid... Either you’re Dana or some Conor cuck’s alternate account.

Yeah that’s called out grappling, he was mounted and escaped mount.

why are his hands down below his waist? Surely if someone has your neck you will try and peel off the hand or at least have them wedged between your neck and his forearm?

Must’ve been wanting out, otherwise you would try and defend.

Compared to the average fighter? Maybe sucks is a bit harsh.. compared to other elite grapplers.. yeah.

He caught Dustins single leg on a number of occasions and could've easily gone for the foot sweep finish.

Why is he scared to engage in any grappling or clinch work?
Because Dustin is a bjj blackbelt, and Conor doesn’t have a strong offensive grappling skill set.

Its exhausting to grapple and Conair already struggles with his gastank on striking alone mixing in grappling would be a disaster

He has only been training BJJ under John Kavanagh for 13 years. Once he reaches the 15-year mark, he will start to use it.
Must be one of those that goes to BJJ class, the teacher shows basic defensive techniques and Conor is ignoring the technique and drilling x guard to berimbolos he saw on Mendes bros YouTube channel.

Stick to the basics

I think even an average fighter probably has better grappling basics than him

He thinks its for pussys
Pussys who strangle his pencil neck, look at his neck. No wonder why he gets dropped so easily, has no thickness to his neck. Bad for grappling, bad for getting clobbered.

Exhausting for someone who can’t grapple yes

He changed levels and was about to (panic) shoot . . . before Poirier's uppercut caught Connor squatting and floored him. The reality is that Conman has no confidence in his grappling, especially against a comfortable grappler like Poirier. Another way to look at is: Where has 99% of Conman's success come from? Striking or grappling? And, before Poirier, where have his greatest weaknesses/losses been?....grappling. Call me crazy, but that's probably why he didn't engage in grappling.

In the second fight he did. However in the first he reversed Nates transitions before he gassed.

The second fight be got clinched abd controled almost all fight ...except for the moments he was jogging and turning his back to nate and running lol..

Revisionist history is strong with this one
