Military Roll Call! Veterans, GTFIH!

They haven't even started . It's literally the test to get into a training company. Now they go to a conditioning platoon and they got 1 more shot, til they get processed out for incapability
Hopefully meps isnt getting lax on the weight standards. It would be easy to make a skinny kid go from 5 to 50, but if they are fat and can only do 5, wow good luck.

Basically if these incels can't do 3 they get a chance to do the Push ups instead, one idiot could only do 5.
I wonder if recruiters weren't having their poolees work out because of Covid. But even my beanpole ass could do 7 pull ups when I left and I'd only been in the DEP for a few weeks.

Well it's normal for fat dudes to still go to boot camp. Unless they're ridiculously overweight. The fat bodies have to go to the back of the line during chow and aren't allowed any sweets or anything.

@jgarner 3/8 got deactivated last week. 1/8 is now part of 2nd Marines and 2/8 is part of 6th Marines.

Yeah it's crazy. I remember when they were activating 9th Marines because of the surge in troops. Now my entire Regiment is decimated.

Kind of breaks my heart to be honest, but hopefully that means we're trending towards sending fewer young men and women towards death overseas.

As long as Joe doesn’t reverse the current withdrawals from the ME and Afghanistan... hearing rumors of that may not be the case.

The army is cutting units as well but I think that was to do with recruiting. SOF is no where near the numbers “they” want so we’re just gonna cut back the amount of folks cut to make the quota.

It honestly blows my fucking mind how these people think sometimes. Well if 20 years of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq hasn't solved the problem, maybe let's try for another decade. Fucking makes my blood boil thinking of the harm that comes to these kids overseas with no clear goals. Just driving around waiting for some piece of shit to ambush them.

I've read where the Taliban still controls like 60% of Afghanistan. They wreck Afghan national forces on the regular. From what I understand they basically stopped attacking American troops because they know if they stop attacking us, we will eventually leave the area.

I genuinely don't see how anything worthwhile could be accomplished in Afghanistan without committing a massive genocide against Afghan and Pakistan Taliban strongholds.

And I really don't want to have to give my honest opinion of my time in Ramadi and how I feel about the cluster fuck that OIF was.

Edit: obviously I'm calling them kids because that's what they are looking back on it as a middle aged adult. I normally use young adults out of respect for their sacrifice, but I'm trying to be honest for a second. We're sending kids to die and kill for fucking nothing.

Bro I think all wars are a cluster fuck. I’ve seen it since I was 19 and I’m close to 40 now. The rationale that the Taliban would not completely control of Afghanistan within months of a coalition departure was utterly flawed. TB will wholesale slaughter any Giroa force member and those sympathetic within a short period of time. Completely supported outfitted and guided by the Pakistanis... wait isn’t the country we are sending millions to in gender studies aid?
WTF?

I see war like I see skydiving it’s fun but if you’re trained you know the risks. It’s also very fun and terrifying simultaneously. I’d rather I’m there fighting than a 18 year old infantrymen. One reason why I rode it out this long.

And 9th Marines got deactivated in 2014. So only 2 infantry regiments on the east coast now.

But don't y'all have the SFABs to lighten the load off SF now?

Thank god they're such a huge benefit. Totally trustworthy and capable of handling a dynamic non-permissive environment. The previous General of the Army dubbed them with a higher acclaim than SF. Citing we're unable to work by, with, through, non-SOF elements. They're so right.

With their doo doo berets. <Lmaoo>

Hotel Co. Graduated this past week. They were a integrated Co. With 2 Female Platoons and 4 Male Platoons. There were brother / sister pair that graduated and to my knowledge this is the 1st time that's happened. There have been on track companies before but never from the same company.

That’s weird, there was a dude on r/USMC this weekend who was one of those grads but he didn’t say anything about that. Just asked about what to expect at SOI.

Maybe he didn't want to brag about being integrated
