Social Reccomend me some conservative movies.

Do you have a quote from him saying people should be forced to go to these?

The woke cultists.
"
Congress should support the reauthorization of the Ryan White Care Act only after completion of an audit to ensure that federal dollars were no longer being given to organizations that celebrate and encourage the types of behaviors that facilitate the spreading of the HIV virus. Resources should be directed toward those institutions which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior."

He wanted to withhold aid unless the government paid for conversion therapy.

And Orwell literally fought fascists alongside communists, yet conservatives think 1984 is about "liberals" rather than just the unavoidable corruption of societal power by a ruling class in a new age of subjugation... because Orwell just hated the powers that be.
Most of us don't want fascists or communists. He definitely targeted authoritarian commies more though, both in that book and of course Animal Farm.

The book/movie doesn't extol the virtue of socialism, hence it's not a leftist movie. And Orwell's socialism was a socialist economy with individual civil liberties.

Sure it does. And, yeah, that's pretty normal for socialists.

Btw, you guys would label Orwell as a prude and homophobe, not to mention he advocated a patriotic defense of a British way of life - today that would make him a "white nationalist".

Me guys? Huh? A white nationalist is someone who believes in having a white ethnostate.

its afghanistan in mid 80s... probably

back then islamists were the good guys

They were. I think at that point in time we were arming them to go against Sadam? I can't remember. We called them "freedom fighters"

soviets... who were trying to modernize afghanistan, same thing americans are trying right now.

You're suggesting modern day conservatives exhibit more authoritarian behavior than liberals?

Jesus Christ. Who just got done trying to invalidate an election and called on governors to invalidate votes?

Which party is pushing snowflake bills making it illegal to "insult a police officer"?

Go watch some old John Wayne/John Ford movies. Or John Wayne/Howard Hawks.

Rio Bravo, The Searchers, Red River, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Fort Apache, ect. There are a shitload of them and 95% are far better than anything Hollywood has released lately.
The searchers is
one of those classics that coasted on killing a whole family in the first 30 seconds followed by lukewarm revenge for the rest of the film.
Tbh a lot of John Wayne movies fizzled out after Eastwood's rise. Wayne's characters looked like lazy tubs of shit compared to the morally question mark angry young man Eastwood plots

I disagree. Ethan Edwards in The Searchers is a prime example of a morally ambiguous anti-hero. Same with his characters in Red River and Liberty Valance. Great movies. I will concede that Eastwood is probably better overall though. In any case he's made or been in plenty of movies that would fit in this thread. They were certainly more nuanced than the majority of Wayne's movies.

Starship Troopers is a running joke on fascism. It is a terrible movie if you can't see that.
I've read the book and seen the movie multiple times. The director, although great, screwed up in his execution and ended up promoting it far more than he critiqued it (minus the handful of "would you like to know more" news clips). Even his cast was confused and questioned him about it. In a sense he set out to crap on the book but he inadvertently ended up honoring it.

That's a fairly bootlicking snowflake action, but still less so than actually passing bills to criminalize people for using the "wrong" pronouns. Or trying to cancel cartoons. Talk about thin-skinned.

Which local politicians had the must draconian lockdowns only to turn around to allow massive BLM gatherings?

Every Batman movie where Batman is actually cool is pretty right wing.

My guess is he will be cancelled soon for being a fascist that breaks bones to poor disenfranchised people. Gotham needs more social workers.

Superman is typically pretty right wing, as well. As are Captain America (traditionally) and Iron Man.

Most X-Men stuff is more to the left (Wolverine being an exception... sometimes). The Avengers are split on a case by case basis, but Hulk is way to the left (anti-military, trauma informed).

Spiderman is about as centrist as it gets.
