UFC Fight Night - Makhachev vs Moises

At first glance I like Morozov as a dog. I was pretty impressed watching his tape for his UFC fight against Umar Nurmagomedov. Not a shame to lose to that kid in your debut.
I have to brush up on Taha, but don't remember being super high on him.

Not a whole lot else that jumps out at me. Hopefully there's some interesting props.
I like him as a dog here i think he has a good chance to come into the win circle here. Taha lost to two these fighters. Bruno Sliva and to Raoni Barcelos. He lost to Silva in a NC No Contest ruling

I only have two dog so far for this week's fight card and Morozov is a very good underdog. I think i will throw a little sparkle when the props come out.

He beat Bruno Silva.

He beat Bruno Silva.
Yeah he did with the arm triangle right? but it was a NC, overturned No Contest for some reason. I will give him credit. He might have a chance by going for a knockout agaisnt morozov. Because alot of the wins he had as a amateur fighter are by a Ko. If you feel you want to go with him i dont see a issue with a ITD prop for Taha.

For this one though i am going the other way around.

(Oct 2020)

Mateusz Gamrot is a pure wrestler and on the feet, he does well but it’s not where he’s best. “Gamer” has decent hands but tends to overreach. He throws a lot of single strikes but does have a sneaky head kick he throws. Just the power isn’t there and not really the technique either. What he does do well is strike to wrestle. A lot of times when Gamrot shoots he’s not completing on the first attempt, rather it’s the chain wrestling that sets him apart. What his opponents have made the mistake of doing is when they sprawl on his shots they follow him down and that’s allowed him to cut the corner taking the back or a leg. When shooting sometimes and changing levels Gamrot is on the ankles (ankle-pick) which is tougher to set-up but even tougher to defend. With his strength, relentless pressure, and chain wrestling he’s a very tough guy to keep off you.

Regarded as an excellent grappler, more impressed with his top control and ground and pound. Most of the time when he’s on top he’s staying there. Gamrot has gone for five rounds three times and into the fourth once and overall his cardio has held up pretty well. Where he will struggle with is against a good striker who knows how to use distance management. Gamrot does telegraph his shots shooting from too far out but you must have good takedown defense to stop him since his chain wrestling is so good. Gamrot will be a problem and I think Mateusz Gamrot at least has top 15 level potential.

Francisco Francisco isn’t at the level of his brother but is talented in his own right. On the feet, he throws a nice left kick to the body, a long accurate jab, and a front kick to maintain his range. He does throw in single strikes and defensively he keeps his hands low and his head sits on the center line most of the time. Figueiredo has strong grappling, but his wrestling isn’t on the same level. I’m not sure where his grappling is exactly as with limited footage it’s hard to get a handle on, but he’s good at finding submissions in transitions. Francisco Francisco's cardio looks to be an issue slowing down significantly after round one. This is a signing that likely happened more due to the association with his brother, and Francisco Francisco's ceiling doesn’t appear to be too high.

The brazilian Rodolfo Vieira is well known for his career in BJJ. Rodolfo Vieira in his BJJ career has a record of 96-10 (on paper) with 62 submissions. Some of his accomplishments in grappling include UAEJJF Abu Dhabi World Pro Champion, IBJJF Pans Champion, ADCC Champion, IBJJF World Champion, and much more. He’s 5-0 in MMA and has finished all his opponents, four of those in the first round.

Vieira hasn’t shown much on the feet offensively besides good leg kicks. That’s because he doesn’t usually waste time before shooting for a takedown and getting the fight to the mat. Vieira has shown good wrestling, timing his shots and getting his hands together to complete the double leg takedown. The mat is his dojo, as he is a high-level grappler obviously with his background in BJJ. He’s very patient but still quick in his transitions, easily going to the mount and the back easily. Vieira has four wins by submission all by rear-naked choke and his other win is by ground and pound. At only 5-0 fighting against not that good of competition, a lot of him is still unknown. He’s purely a grappler so if he can’t get a takedown, he will most likely struggle. Vieira has gone to the third round once as his gas tank held up but his pace did slow. It’s hard to say how Rodolfo Vieira will do against top competition.

Not a bad parlay, only thing I'd switch would be Nascimiento since I worry about his chin after what happened against Daukaus.

Then again, I have been mulling over adding Taha to my picks which could bite me in the ass. Any reason you didn't add Johns on there?

Is this your notes or where do you find this?

Good overview I like the Pros and Cons setup. Its a good easy overview.

I just google "Mateusz Gamrot welcome to" or "Rodolfo Vieira welcome to" and there's almost always a good article from cagesidepress

This is the worst card I've seen in a while, both in terms of entertainment value and betting value

I was thinking the same thing. I want to be pleasantly surprised by some great finishes.

Na. This isn't 2014 and Lemos is no slouch. She will win every aspect of the fight and has never been taken down. The other guy can be my guest and blow a unit on such a narrow ptv with that incredibly thin reasoning, but I disagree with it.
I dont mind blowing a unit. If my main bets didn’t get canceled I probably would’ve just punted to win a unit.

Watched Taha first and really thought I was going to have a bet on Morozov from memory and I was disappointed, just doesn't push the pace and pressure wrestling and grappling game I was expecting, he's good in these areas but he's not overwhelming, it's kind of a slow/lazy approach, he gets on top and just lays in guard for a while and doesn't do much with it. Don't think he's physical enough or heavy enough on top to control the fight there, and standing Taha should be able to bully him and hurt him

I think it'll be a close fight. Morozov has the grappling upside, he has good in an out movement, I think he's probably a bit faster. At +150 it's worth a shot imo

I like Jeremy Stephens at +200 and up. I think Gamrot is a bit overrated for one. His striking is subpar, he has awful head movement. Stephens is clearly a level above if the fight is standing. Stephens showed that he isnt declining in the Kattar fight despite his loss streak. He comfortably won round 1, started very strong and he genuinely looked good. Gamrot's ptv is purely wrestling based but i dont think he sets up his shots well enough or is dangerous enough on the feet. I think Gamrot has to wrestle consistently and put Jeremy on his back in 2 out of the 3 rounds. Is that worth his 1.4 price tag, I don't really think so. Jeremy lands enough damage early and I think it only gets easier for him. I think Jeremy can certainly TKO Gamrot and make him not fucking move.

Pros

Cons

How much do you trust Nascimento as previously stated, "he doesn't offer much on the feet" and Baudot appears to be the striker in this matchup? I can't find much Baudot is good at, but doesn't the striking aspect and the unknown of what Baudot offers scare you some?

Not the guy you quoted, but I had some of the same thoughts and decided to look at Baudot a little more to see if he was worth the flier - I don't think he is. His only decent win is a fight that got overturned due to his opponent hitting the weed, should be a submission loss on his record.

The rest of his victories have all come against cans, and he really showed absolutely nothing on the mat against Aspinall. I personally wouldn't trust Nascimiento against a power puncher for now, but Baudot isn't the guy I'd be too concerned with.

I guess for me it's not so much that Baudot is a power puncher as it is it's HW and Baudot throws random stuff that could connect and put Nasciemento away? Why is Baudot at HW anyway?

He's always divided his time between LHW and HW it seems, although never got as heavy as he did for the Aspinall fight. My guess is that a combination of age and the pandemic may have led to him ballooning up like some of the others LHWs/MWs turned heavies.

o2.5 for islam fight -225 great price. 3u bet for me
the under 4.5 set at 2.24 (+124) at my book, i think it's worth a play. islam should get the sub in the third or fourth imho. moises has only lost by decision but this is their first 5 rounder and he hasn't fought anyone like mak. khabib has already told him he's got to fight for the title in the next 12 months, dude has to make an impression. besides, the under also covers the chance moises scores an upset.

How do you factor in Gamrot being southpaw? I dont believe Jeremy fought a southpaw his entire FW career. Last one was Yves Edwards I believe in his last LW fight. Yair switches stance but otherwise its mainly orthodox fighters hes fought. I wouldnt play Gamrot and Jeremys losing streak is very deceptive but I dunno
