On one of my smart TV's I almost exclusively watch YouTube videos on an unsigned in account and for the past couple weeks I've noticed an increase in ads. Anybody else notice the same?

I think they do as well.

YouTube has been so bad. They really want you to pay for an account, which isn’t going to happen (speaking for myself). I, too, use the site on my smart TVs — mainly for international news — only to have it interrupted by five-minute ads.

Youtube is basically unwatchable from my phone with constant ads. I found out you can scroll to the end of the video then hit replay and it plays the video without the ads.

Yes.

Also, before they increased their ads, their algorithm played more ads if you watched one until the end. By example, if you're cooking and don't get a chance to skip an ad, they would double the amount of ads they would show. Can't tell if they still do this after their recent change.

Dude sometimes it will put like an hour long ad, that is just like some dudes podcast, its weird

They must have got the idea from sherdog. The amount of pop ups while on my phone is ridiculous. Half the time it’ll freeze up when trying to post.

Yes i noticed this, i have basic ad blocker and it doesnt block youtube video pre roll ads you the ones that say skip to continue.

youtube is where people make money from ads, websites no longer make much from adsense because people have built in ad blockers on their browsers this why you see majority of websites asking for you to turn off ad blocker.

youtube is the gold mine more advertisers are willing to spend on youtube ads as opposed to websites because most people cant or dont know how to block youtube ads.

I never read any article once it says turn off your ad blocker, I just close out of it

I also recommend the Brave browser for mobile. You have to deal with crypto bullshit, and it’s ugly as hell, but you don’t see ads on YouTube or any site for that matter.

Seco

Seconded. I use brave browser for browsing stuff. I'm still trying to figure how to block these ads on YouTube official app though.
