There are many facets to this that really irritate me.
The first is that Tyron thought he was winning. He had a lot left in the gas tank at the end of the fight and essentially went on cruise control because he was so deluded he thought he was ahead. Also the fact that he basically just ported his MMA strategy, which is to wait for your one big punch, over to the world of boxing, is very disappointing and demonstrates either a lack of fighting IQ on his part or... a severe lack of understanding from his team.
The second thing actually is his team. Those guys should have been telling him "you are losing this fight. If you care about Tyron Woodley you are screaming at him after the 1st round that he threw all of three punches. You're telling him after the 5th that "Unless you knock him out, you will lose," over and over again. I don't know how these people can call themselves his friend after this disappointing effort.
And finally whoever the judge is that gave the fight to Tyron, has REALLY done him a disservice because now Tyron thinks everyone else agrees with him, that he won, and that he doesn't have to make any adjustments.
What's so discouraging about this is that Tyron very, VERY likely would have won if he had just pulled the trigger, put together more than ONE combination. It makes me so frustrated on his behalf. It may be that he needs a new team because it's not like he doesn't have the ability--- he needs direction.
Also cringe at branding yourself at your opponent's command just to get a rematch. Jesus man get some self respect
