There are many facets to this that really irritate me.

The first is that Tyron thought he was winning. He had a lot left in the gas tank at the end of the fight and essentially went on cruise control because he was so deluded he thought he was ahead. Also the fact that he basically just ported his MMA strategy, which is to wait for your one big punch, over to the world of boxing, is very disappointing and demonstrates either a lack of fighting IQ on his part or... a severe lack of understanding from his team.

The second thing actually is his team. Those guys should have been telling him "you are losing this fight. If you care about Tyron Woodley you are screaming at him after the 1st round that he threw all of three punches. You're telling him after the 5th that "Unless you knock him out, you will lose," over and over again. I don't know how these people can call themselves his friend after this disappointing effort.

And finally whoever the judge is that gave the fight to Tyron, has REALLY done him a disservice because now Tyron thinks everyone else agrees with him, that he won, and that he doesn't have to make any adjustments.

What's so discouraging about this is that Tyron very, VERY likely would have won if he had just pulled the trigger, put together more than ONE combination. It makes me so frustrated on his behalf. It may be that he needs a new team because it's not like he doesn't have the ability--- he needs direction.

Also cringe at branding yourself at your opponent's command just to get a rematch. Jesus man get some self respect

He should just find someone to fight who is;

a) a boxer
and
b) his weight class

Lets be honest here if he was going trough the regular process of a boxer he would be fighting some tomato cans that just got of a bar. Thats how bad padding on the boxe records are, he's fighting guys about his level if not better actually

YouTube mook, Basketball player, a fat Welterweight with noodle arms and Woodley who has a career history of hating combinations who is also totally washed and 20lbs over his optimum weight class.

These are names people have heard of but your run of the mill Cruiserweight scrub could beat them too.

And thats about who paul is, basically an amateur boxer why are we acting like he's fighting super low level competition? He's fighting people about his level and winning thats a really bad look for mma. Boxer or not tyron has being punching for over 10 years lets not pretend jake is taking an easy fight in him if anything he's punching up...and he's winning

Paul is leveraging his fan base to attract PPV income. Something former prized fighters are happy to oblige by for the quick pay day.

Keep in mind Paul PPV'd a shame wedding prior to boxing.

Can we please stop pretending all of that is any different than WWE's "brawl for all" from the late 90s?

It would actually be fun to see James Toney make him hit air all day long.

There are hundreds of novice ammies that would embarrass Paul

Really a series of bad takes.

My guess is that he will challenge a Gracie next, "they're the most famous family of MMA fighters ever, it's the boxing bout that makes sense!"

I really don't see Jake's entourage encouraging him to call a striker out. Why would they, when they can keep on picking wrestlers who have won a major MMA title, and keep the Paul bros fans happy?

"Holy shit he beat a MMA champion with a 3-0 record, that's unheard of!!"
(because no boxer has been shameless enough to call out Ben Askren and Damian Maia to a boxing bout before)

As pathetic as it sounds, I actually believe he may do this. Perhaps even something as silly as challenging a "pro wrestler" to boxing.

Honestly, if he's afraid of challenging a legit pro boxer, he should at least challenge a kickboxer or something similar to a boxing match.. or an upcoming amateur boxer. So far he's building a rep as a joke boxer.

He's taking a wierd route, but he's progressing fighting steadily better guys. That doesn't mean he's good, but it doesn't mean he's a fraud either.

There aren't really rules for how celebrity boxing is supposed to work, but I think boxing past prime MMA fighters is evrey bit as legitimate as any other celebrity boxing event.

What's weird and borderline unethical is the sports world (showtime, espn, etc...) treating it like a legit competition rather than admiting it's a freak show.

I agree I love boxing but most records are paddded especially the first 10 fights ..

Normally ur fighting suburban nobodys 4 fights in

remember when Ben Askren was going to destroy Jake Paul?

I guess in hindsight Ben Askren sucks. And now Tyron sucks.
Jake Paul could KO Canelo tomorrow, then Canelo sucks

Go Jake

Paul is pretty damn good for a guy doing it just 3 years... if he sticks to it (unlikey given his wealth), he could make a career of boxing.

He's using the tattoo as leverage for the rematch. He won't get it until they've signed a contract.

I think just about anybody would get a tattoo that could be easily covered later for 8 figures.

I don’t get why he should though. He is clearly making money facing people he knows he can beat. People all of a sudden want him to fight pro boxers in their prime when himself is just a YouTube talking shit. I personally don’t want to see him fight a top guy, where’s the fun in that? Gets flattened and the show is over?

Look at how much fun we’re having making fun of twood. Look at how much fun we had when Logan landed hard on Floyd and went the distance. Watching Floyd’s face of disappointment was legendary.

these two guys are douchebags but what they are doing is getting people salty to a whole knew level. When Logan took Floyd to distance and even landed a few hard shots people simply kept quiet and pretended that shit didn’t happen.

I think sherdog hasn’t been this fun in a long time. There’s always time to suck on gsps nuts
