I can't recall a trailer that has ever made chills climb up my spine.

But that trailer made chills crawl up my spine.

In retrospect, perhaps it was best for the trailer NOT to show Tobey and Andrew, but the overload of old villains...

*Doc Oc
*Green Goblin
*Sandman
*Electro
*Lizard

...Was enough nostalgia for old fans to gain interest.

The only person that will be missing is Stan Lee for a cameo.

The biggest surprise was.... Black Spider-Man? At first I thought it was Tobey in the symbiote suit from the 3rd movie.... but then it got me thinking.... could that be Miles Morales?

Think about it, we're expecting 3 Spider-Men.... what if there's 4?

Don't think so.

I'm still holding out hope that Venom is going to be in it, Sony's Venom with Tom Hardy.

That way it'll be the Sinister 6 VS 3 Spider-Men (possibly 4).

That post credits scene in Venom 2 was too good NOT to have him in there.

There is DEF someone with sunglasses and long hair (ala james francos goblin) flying on Goblins thingy in this quick clip....

First thoughts, in no particular order.

- Peter has a Thousand Yard Stare in the very first scene. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he's lost someone he cares about; MJ, May or Ned.

- MJ is as insufferable as usual. "You know this is all kind of your fault". Bitch, please. If your boyfriend had kept his mouth shut, none of this would have happened.

- Stark Nano-Tech Octopus Arms confirmed: you can clearly see the colour of the arms changes from dull metal to red and gold after the fight on the bridge. The Arms, which have their own AI, are obviously upgrading themselves after coming into contact with the Iron Spider suit.

- Ned is barely hanging on after trying to grab MJ. The line, "I can't save everyone" is both a call back to Civil War, where Cap tells Wanda the same thing, and foreshadowing that Peter will have to choose between the lives of the woman he loves and his best friend. If they do make Ned the Hobgoblin further down the line, this could be the reason for his Face - Heel Turn; he feels betrayed by his best friend.

- The lines, "You're flying out into the darkness to fight ghosts" and, "They all died fighting Spider-Man. It's their fate" indicate that Holland wasn't kidding: this is going to be a very dark movie. Quite possibly Spider Man's Infinity War, where it ends with the good guys utterly defeated.

- The, "cracks" in the sky as Strange admits to Peter he can't stop the incursions from other realities look very like the breaking of the Sacred Timeline in Loki.

- Electro looks so much better than he did in the TASM movie. Bonus points for the electricity forming a shape that resembles his classic mask from the comic.

- Great to see Green Goblin back, but I really wish they'd gone with a more comic accurate costume than the Power Ranger look from the Rami movie. Interestingly, although we hear Dafoe's voice, we don't get a clear look at him unmasked.

- Fight on the Statue of Liberty: it's obvious there's more than one Spider Man there, just by the positioning and movement of the Villains. Sony/Marvel are not going to blow their wad in the Trailer. Also, I'd be amazed(get it?)if it wasn't Garfield who saves MJ while she's falling, rather than Holland.

From my sources...

Yeah, you know that cutesy, happy-go-lucky, Spiderman movie franchise we all know?

Yeahhhhh... This ain't that train bruh...

<HisEye>

Tom Holland, "This movie is going to be so dark!"

Fans, "Yeah, right! It's an MCU movie, how dark can it get?"

(First scene in the trailer is Holland with a legit Thousand Yard Stare)

By the way, I've heard alot of wishlists about this movie about the dialogue between the 3 Spider-Men, or Doc Oc and Green Goblin, or *Fill In The Blanks for 2 characters.*

Its best to not get your hopes up too high with a giant cross-over event of this magnitude. We don't know what the runtime of this movie is and its stacked to the gills with loved characters.

*Tom Holland (Spider-Man)
*Tobey McGuire (Spider-Man)
*Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man)
*Black Spider-Man
*Mary Jane
*Dr. Strange
*Doc Oc
*Green Goblin
*Sandman
*Electro
*Lizard
*Venom?

That's potentially 12 freaking characters, and I fear more than a few of them (probably mostly the villains) will have glorified cameos, only being in the movie for a few minutes of screentime.

Despite that new trailer being 3 minutes long we don't really know what the plot is going to be about beyond 'send characters from our universe back to theirs.'

If people that died fighting spider-man are being pulled in to the MCU that means Topher Grace's Venom should be there (or in some switchero situatio Tom Hardy's or both).

That would also explain why Vulture, Rhino and Mysterio arent part of the sinister 6, Myterio died but since he was part of the MCU maybe he is not affected by the magic bringing people from alternate dimensions.

Wonder if spider-verse film will get referenced??.

And that thousand-yard stare doesn't have to happen at the beginning of the movie.

I've read some 'leaked' plot summaries, and there's ONE thing that was VERY dark, but it didn't seem right... like Marvel wouldn't go there because it'd be TOO tragic and there's no way it could be satisfying, especially to kids.

I won't spoil it here, because even if I put it in spoiler tags I know some may click on it and be very regretful about it.

I think I saw a few shots in the trailer that may be leading to it being true.... BUT... those plot-summaries didn't mention anything about a Black Spider-Man, who may be Miles Morales, and there was no mention of Venom (which I am still hoping is going to be in the movie).

Lemme see this will be easier with no spoilers lol.

  1. Falcon + Winter Soldier. Good Buddy buddy action, resolves some issues with how Bucky and Falcon deal with Cap's absence... not really neeeded for phase 4.
  2. WandaVision. Sets up SWORD and opens a door for x-men. Not a bad series, so watch it because most of TV is garbage. Keep in mind this girl put Thanos in trouble 1on1.
  3. Black Widow. We all know after End Game what happened... it's a great notch in her character, but doesn't really expand on PHASE 4.
  4. LOKI -- I recommend watching it here. Marvel ran it out of order in the first place because of COVID bullpoop. -- Eternals and Shang Chi will make more sense.
  5. Shang Chi. If you like Crouching Tiger and Michelle Yeoh, this movie will make ya poop yer pants. It set up some of phase 4
  6. ETERNALS. Selma my Hayek -- Still rockin dat bod. This explains too much to list here really, as it's super recent. The eternals were first shown in Guardians 1 (big dude smashing planet with power stone) and why some other badasses (thanos) wanted to collect the stones. It also introduces the celestials with quills father : the guy from the best horror movie ever.... THE THING.
I seriously wouldn't watch anything coming out without doing LOKI/SHANG/ETERNALS before it lol.... Falcon/WANDA/WiDOW are kinda their own thing, but ultimately none of them have been bad.

Thank you for this. I've missed almost all of the new Marvel stuff after the last Avengers.

Found this article, saying -

"(Venom2 post credits scene) & Coupled with a recently circulated photo of Hardy wearing a logo hat for the MCU movie, it does seem to be confirmed that Venom will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

https://screenrant.com/venom-spider...,Venom will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

"Based on the image of Hardy in a Spider-Man: No Way Home hat, which were likely given to those who worked on the movie, and the Venom: Let There Be Carnage post-credits scene, there's a fair amount of evidence that Venom will be in the Spidey movie. But how exactly he'll fit into the film remains to be seen. The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer confirmed characters from other universes will be part of the movie's story, with Peter facing off against Doc Ock, but it's unclear if Venom could be another villain or an ally of sorts. Since there are a host of villains either confirmed or rumored to be in Spider-Man: No Way Home - including Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin and Jamie Foxx's Electro among others - Peter could no doubt use some help. Of course, there are also reports of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning as Spider-Man, though the later has vehemently denied his involvement."

"It's also possible that with so many characters already either rumored or confirmed for the film, Venom won't have a big role at all. He may instead appear in a cameo role, perhaps setting up a proper Spider-Man vs. Venom fight in a future movie. Considering how highly anticipated a meeting of Spider-Man and Venom is, especially after the lackluster reception of Raimi's Spider-Man 3, it might be best to save that conflict for a movie of its own. Still, with Venom now in the MCU and Spider-Man: No Way Home including characters from various universes, it seems almost certain Hardy will show up in the movie as his next appearance after Venom: Let There Be Carnage."

I call this a unconfirmed confirmation.

Because if Venom ISN'T in No Way Home, WTF was that post-credits scene about?

No clue.

Whatever 'rumors' there has been about this movie COULD have been released by Marvel to create hype. But there's been NO mention of a Black Spider-Man.

IF it is Miles Morales then there's been absolutely been no leaks of the plot with him in it or who's playing him.

Edit - It was kinda odd they had a 'Spider-Man Miles Morales' advertisement at the end of the trailer. Could be a ;).

I was thinking it would be Topher Grace posing as a alternate universe Peter Parker, symbiotes are shape shifters and the costume is similar to how Maguire black costume looked but using Hollands design instead of Raimi's. But it seems toys are revealing thats not the case.

Also if they changed Electro's look does this mean this are alternate versions and not exactly the ones from the other movies???

I could of sworn there was a Hobgoblin in there too....

You may be right.

Good eye. I completely missed it.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Trailer Might Be Pulling a Massive Bait and Switch on Us

"The newest trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” brought a whole lot of villains with it. But did it also bring another Spider-Man? Honestly guys, this trailer might actually be filled with deception.

Let’s first address the sinister elephant in the room. Heading into this trailer, we had four members of the Sinister Six confirmed for “No Way Home”: Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx’s Electro (although he looks way different than when we first met him), Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, and Sandman (though we still don’t know for sure if Thomas Hayden Church will be playing him this time around).

With Tuesday night’s trailer, Sony confirmed that Lizard will also join the villainous sextet, presumably coming from Andrew Garfield’s “The Amazing Spider-Man.”
b26bd882a24e737d134974224afa0762

He only appears in full Lizard form though, so it’s unclear if Rhys Ifans will return as Dr. Curt Connors in “No Way Home.”

As for the 6th and final member of the Sinister Six, you have to look real closely. Because along with Dafoe’s Green Goblin, it appears that we’re also getting a version of Hobgoblin. For reference, pause the trailer or watch it in slow motion right around the 2:11 mark. Or, you can take a look at the image below, next to Hobgoblin of “Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man” #85, art by Al Milgrom:

That uh, looks a little too similar to be a coincidence.

At this point, we’ve only ever officially met one Hobgoblin across the three Spider-Man franchises: James Franco. He briefly took up the mantle in “Spider-Man 3” before being killed in the end — which would fit with Doctor Strange’s warning that every villain in “No Way Home” is fated to die fighting Spider-Man.

But, Franco’s Hobgoblin was killed by Venom and Sandman, not Spider-Man. So in all likelihood, this could be someone we’ve never met in the Sony Spider-Man Universe. Some fans have speculated it might be Peter’s friend Ned. We’re not seeing it, but anything is possible.

All that said, let’s circle back to Doc Ock. In this trailer, Molina’s Otto Octavius is definitely introduced as a villain, but upon seeing that Tom Holland is not actually his Peter Parker, he pulls up. As the trailer goes on, it appears that he may even be working with Peter and his friends. So, will he really be part of the Sinister Six? We aren’t totally convinced this isn’t a bait and switch.

And that brings us back to our original speculation that Tom Hardy’s Venom or Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter may show up. Venom seems the most likely, considering the post-credits scene of “Let There Be Carnage,” but it’s impossible to say with any certainty right now.

But with all this speculation on the villains of “No Way Home,” we should also address the speculation surrounding the hero of the film — or, if rumors and fan hopes are to be believed, heroes.

Though no real evidence this will happen has emerged — yeah, we’ve seen those purported set pics, but those things can be faked — fans are hoping that both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men appear, considering their villains are. And honestly, it’s a valid theory. But we’re thinking this trailer might’ve introduced a second spidey and he’s not any of the three we’re expecting.

Let’s look closer at Black Suit Spider-Man. At first glance, it seems this might just be Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, in a new suit upgraded with magic by Doctor Strange. But, the moment he appears, Strange is heard saying “There are others out there. We need to send them back.”

e7c901fe6839170ea1a3e87a4cf939cb

He could very well be referring to this Spider-Man, just without knowing it. It also seems strange that, in the same shot, Spidey clearly has his back fully turned on Electro. Unless he’s taking a moment to power up his magic — which Peter would also somehow have to learn — to deliver a strike, it seems like an unlikely move to make. Especially since Electro needs very little time to strike himself.

So, is this actually some Spider-Strange hybrid from a different universe? It may be a stretch, but in fairness, this is a world based on comics. It’s not so outlandish of a possibility. Then again, it’s not necessarily a stretch to think that maybe Strange has upgraded our Peter’s suit with magical device, allowing him to call for help.

This gets us back to those rumors that Garfield — who keeps denying it — and Maguire are going to show up in this movie. Whatever happens with that, the reaction is going to be fun. But even those rumors definitely aren’t true, you really don’t need them to do a live action “Spider-Verse” story. Though we doubt Peter Porker the Spectacular Spider-Ham is showing up any time soon.

One last thought: For the third time in live action, one of Spider-Man’s girlfriends is going to end up falling from a very high height, just like Gwen Stacy in “The Amazing Spider-Man” #121 (1973). Will she die, just like Gwen Stacy in “The Amazing Spider-Man” #121? We don’t know, but we’re leaning towards no, if only because we already got the death of Gwen Stacy in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” Presumably, this will end up more like Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man,” where Peter managed to save Mary Jane Watson.

Really, there’s a lot going on in this trailer — and we just don’t trust any of it."

I'm pretty sure that TYS will be very near the end of the movie. You can almost guarantee that not everyone Peter cares about is going to make it out the film alive.

If the first two Spidey movies were his equivalents of Avengers and Age of Ultron, then this is his Infinity War.

I was thinking it would be Topher Grace posing as a alternate universe Peter Parker, symbiotes are shape shifters and the costume is similar to how Maguire black costume looked but using Hollands design instead of Raimi's. But it seems toys are revealing thats not the case.

I highly doubt it.

I don't like Topher Grace as a person, but I actually loved him as Eddie Brock in SM3, but apparently I'm one of the few because he took some blame, far more than he deserved, for SM3 not being well liked among critics and audiences.

With a stacked deck of loved characters and highly-paid actors coming back to play most of them, I wouldn't put Topher Grace's inclusion very high on the 'likely to happen' list.

Hell, there's been NO rumblings about that whatsoever on the rumor mill about this movie.

You may be right.

Even if they hated him people will react if they brought him back (nostalgia is a bitch and its Venom), I could argue other than Dafoe and Molina all the others villains were hated. People even wanted to see the Rhino just because they want to see a bunch of villans together and millions of references to other films. But they will probably just use Hardy's version of the character instead.
