What two combinations of lightweights could beat Khabib?

Hm? BJ Penn has great jiu jitsu off his back, granite chin, good takedown defense, great boxing - he already has the skill set, just a matter if he is trained enough or if he's strong enough I suppose.

Stylistically, he checks a lot off what you would need to fight Khabib - just a question if he's good enough.

Conor/Aoki

Khabib will never sub someone as good as Aoki in his life. Aoki is really tricky off his back. Given how Conor looked against Khabib in his match after a long lay off, Prime Conor with Aoki's grappling will pose a riddle to Khabib he won't be able to solve. I suppose I could have picked someone with great wrestling too, but I was just watching some Aoki fights so

Oliveira + Khabib

Makhachev + BJ Penn

Makhachev:
Wrestling and physicality

BJ Penn:
Boxing, reaction time and chin

BJ had the offense to beat the brakes off anyone. Khabib probably wins by decision most of the time but I could see BJ stopping him 3 times out of 10. A grappler like Khabib really only has one choice against Penn, the GSP 2 strategy...be on him like glue and just methodically wear him down. Khabib would just have to avoid getting hurt for two rounds and it's probably a wrap by decision after that. BJ was a serious problem standing up and on the ground amd was almost impossible to take down.

Penn was very mercurial, sometimes he was basically an unstoppable force, sometimes he fought stupid or lackadaisical. BJ was pretty much always up to fight, but he was a frontrunner and unless he could beat Khabib up early, which he had more than enough offense to do, he'd probably wear down by the 3rd round.

Funny thing is…

Of all these combos being listed, Khabib beats both guys in the same night.

Sounds good on paper until you remember this guy lost to Frankie Edgar multiple times and then begins the laughter.

BJ + Tibau. Pow. Can't take him down, and he boxes you up.
