From the ages of 18 to 28 and then after my divorce I lived the life of a bachelor. I always had a dishwasher, I truly believe it is one of lifes greatest inventions. Growing up with 5 siblings and mom and dad we had to wash dishes by hand, alot of fucking dishes. I got smart and started to pay my siblings when it was my night to wash dishes.

I wash my own dishes
Its more work to rinse the dishes, load the dishwasher, set the function, wait, unload the dishwasher, blah, blah, blah
You gotta be real lazy to work that hard
I could do it by hand and be done in a few minutes

Handwash.
It's cleaner and faster. If I put them in the washer then I'd likely forget to unload them later whenever they finished.
I also find it relaxing to wash dishes while I'm listening to music or a podcast or something.

I remember the water so hot you could barely put your hands in it. I rely on child labor and a fully functional dishwasher now. Kids don’t know how good they have it these days.

In my house everyone washes what they use and puts it back

Grew up without a dishwasher. I'll always hand wash if it's just me. Wife and kids were a different story. No man should need a machine just to wash some dishes.

I grew up without one, was shocked to meet people that had never washed a dish in their life! These days I really don’t feel the need to live without one. If the worst comes to worst I won’t bitch to be without one but to me it’s a luxury I’d prefer not to lose

We have a dishwasher. It doesn't get used apart from as storage for the plates etc we've cleaned.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if most people that grew up without a dishwasher end up using one. It just doesn't make sense to use all that energy to do something I can finish in a couple of minutes. It's probably more work than just doing it myself immediately.

True but I can honestly say that I would never be able to match my dishwasher when I comes to glass
