This is Tyson at 15. No doubt he would fuck up alot of 25 year olds at that age.

Besides, plenty of fighters start pro at around 17/18. S'all good

Fuck it. If he wins and gets signed he'll be the youngest to fight in the UFC. I bet they try to get him on some type of regional growing up contract or some shit.

I guess it's pretty interesting to see how young some people can begin competing in MMA, that being said there's no way this kid should be going to the UFC at 17. IMO that's a bit too young to be competing in the UFC's bantamweight division which is full of killers.
If this does go through tho, I hope he does well and wish him luck.

At least Dana will have someone that he calls "kid" that actually make sense now instead of a bunch full grown fighters in there 20's and 30's.

There's a difference between starting pro at 17 and fighting in the Contender Series at 17. The kid is 5-0 against opponents with a combined record of 3-3 and Mando Gutierrez is 25 with a 7-1 record against a combined 20-12. Ruas had two amateur fights against a record of 0-0 and Mando was 7-0 as an ammy against a combined 17-13.

On top of this you're telling the much more experienced dude he has to go out there and finish this kid in spectacular fashion to get a contract, so he's going to really try to hurt him.

I think it's incredibly irresponsible booking.

Yeah, I actually think the commission might stop this one from going ahead.
I doubt it.

Last weekend's UFC card had Iasmin Lucindo on it, who is 20 and already has 18 pro fights. 12 pro fights came before her 18th birthday.

Rosas Jr. will be less than one month shy of his 18th birthday and he's 5-0 as a pro plus 2-0 as an amateur.

Yeah I'm wondering about that too.
Rory was able to get some pro MMA bouts in at 16, but it might be different in the US depending on what state this fight takes place in(I'm guessing Nevada).

Lucindo's fights were in Brazil tbf, they don't stop anything there. You can happily book debutants against guys who are 20-1.

Yeah it's DWCS, so Nevada for sure.

Tbf Mando Gutierrez is a submission specialist, one win by decision and all the rest are chokes (guillotine, RNC, triangle, arm triangle). I've never seen him fight so not sure if he's really the kind of fighter who hurts his opponent or not.

Mando is extremely aggressive. I've seen him fight three or four times. Club and sub kind of guy.
