I say keep that thing clean and original. Those TBI 350 won't make much power unless you dig into them. Keep an eye out for rot behind those chrome fender flares. I had an 04 Z71 so am partial to that style, so dig seeing rust free clean examples of em. Cool truck.

A contractor I work with has a '91 with 390,000 miles clocked on the original motor, and it's been through three teenage drivers now. Still Truckin. The 88-95 TBI 350 V8's are built for rugged durability but were severely shorted on factory performance. I do think it would be criminal not to at least free up the intake and exhaust with a new throttle body thrown on. It really deserves new cylinder heads too, but I digress.

Yeah, gutless. My 2 cars before that truck were a 77 TA with a 2bbl 350 (blew the original motor) and a 76 Formula fire chicken (402 BOP) so I kept trying to tune up the TBI 350 because it had decent compression, but just had no nuts comparatively. Then I realized those motors just weren't peppy.

The funny thing you'll appreciate, me being almost as old as your pops and all, is that calling that gen of trucks OBS is odd to me. My first pickup was a 76 Chev so a 90s model isn't all that old to us geezers. Lol
