Went exactly how i thought it would. Props to Jake Paul. Hes putting in the work and improving each fight. I wanted Silva to win but knew age would be a huge factor.
Next Jake Paul needs to box a legitimate boxer with a real record if he wants to be taken seriously.
Nah he will box a undersized Nate
He should do one round box one round MMA

let’s be honest though. compared to the typical boxing “prospect,” jake started off his career facing a murderers row. just look at tommy fury’s opponents, and he’s supposed to be a legitimate boxer. woodley and silva aren’t boxers by trade, but i reckon they would run through the slobs on tommy’s padded record.

i don’t think jake paul has it in him to become an elite boxer. he knows it, most people seem to understand this. so he doesn’t need to waste time proving anything by seeking out “legitimate boxers.” he’s doing the right thing by fighting famous mma fighters in the boxing ring.
I think he could If he continues on this path.

Obviously nothing Is ever set In stone, to become truly elite and championship caliber is a different animal.

But, the level of talent he's shown relative to his experience, the Improvement he continues making at a fast pace and just listening to him speak about how he's molded his whole life around eating, sleeping, breathing boxing..He's doing all the right things. Has the dog in him, fighters spirit and instincts, can take a shot. Seems to have a good team around him who get's him the right work. To my knowledge he's actually been sparring elite level boxers for a while.

If this is something he's confident In, I'd imagine It's based on what his coaches are seeing In his training, sparring performances, fights, etc.

It's not that far fetched if he continues on this trajectory.

not saying it was a fix but...
Silva koed leben and griffin withstraight counters
when you age you lose speed for sure but power is something that often stays....
his counters didnt really ahve much pop on them today..

yall are being sold a lie askren, woodley and silva then are told that this is much more competitvive than most boxers early careers.... SMH
Jake is a far better striker than Leben and Griffin. Silva's also fighting with bigger gloves and he's older.

Sure, but my point was you can't take anything from that sparring footage really. He's been seriously training for almost 3 years since that footage. I have no idea how this fight is going to go. At 47 if Anderson gets cracked, that could be a wrap. Or Anderson could basically freeze Jake on the feet and KO him.

we'll find out.
I'm mid-way through watching it now. Jake looks like someone who is untested with good fundamentals fighting someone who knows how to box.

The KD went about as expected. Opening = counter right

I do consider this Jake Paul's first and only real profight, why not continue with real fights?

Nah he really wants to be a world champion, he's just trying to fast track it but also gain experience as he progresses. That's why it's a constant step up each fight. He's tried to fight boxing prospects around his skill level but they all pulled out or was purposely overweight. They understand that Jake Paul is a legit threat and many boxers don't want to risk losing to him.

Regardless how people feel about him he has skills, I can size people up well and see their skill sets from fights, training, sparring, etc so I knew Jake Paul is better than people think he is. Fight went pretty much how I expected it to go and I've said it in a previous post recently before the fight. Jake Paul is at an intermediate level right now in boxing. He's not at the beginner pro level anymore. Huge improvement compared to this fight compared to the 2 Woodley fights. He's had 2 fight camps before this fight preparing for actual boxers so you can see the improvements.

If Anderson Silva would've fought him a couple of months ago, he would've won. People don't realize that Jake Paul is taking his training and boxing career seriously.

This. People don't realize he's taking his training and boxing career seriously. It's really his focus now and everything else is second. He's also a boxing promoter so he's all in.

Any top amateur boxer tunes up jake Paul. This fight is all memes
Nah he's around intermediate pro level now. There are still some stand out amateurs, but Jake's skill set is comparable with pro boxers now.

Nah, tons of boxers have come up facing way tougher opposition. You have guys like David Reid, Davey Moore, Fernando Vargas, Holyfield, etc., who were facing legit veterans with good records in the infancy of their pro careers or in some cases even former world champions. Not every boxer goes that route and it isn't always wise to fast track your opposition, but there are plenty of boxers who match tough early on. Of course, Inoue and Lomachenko are recent examples on the extreme end of matching tough.

I think it is just hard to say at this point.
