BJJ grappling Khabib vs Gordon Ryan

BJJ is bullshit fringe sport. If Gordon Ryan was a better grappler than Khabib he'd be making millions in MMA.

He's making millions outside of MMA. You know Dana wouldn't be paying him as much as he's making now if he makes the jump. It would make no sense for him to jump over.

When is Ryan gonna do mma?

He would get smashed
I never seen him getting hit, but I'm willing to bet anything he is afraid of getting hit

A genuis at BJJ, nobody can deny that, but he looks and sounds soft

This is a fighting forum. Who gives a fuck how much money he makes? Do you think he started BJJ to make money? He just lucked out that he makes more money than half of the UFC.

At the end of the day I guarantee he would trade all his money to be the champion of the UFC. Unfortunately for him he is the goat of a fringe sport that most people don't give a fuck about.

It's like a G-leaguer bragging about his MVP to an NBA player.

Anyone else would love to see this? I understand Gordon is the GOAT, but Khabib's mystical aura, rumors grappling and almost lifetime undefeated record in combat would make this a must-watch. I would pay top PPV dollars to see it, how about you bros? It's not that much of a fantasy matchup either since Khabib promised his mom he wouldn't fight MMA again. If there's enough fan interest in it, we can make it happen like Conor and Floyd. Let's go bros!
Khabib is a fucking lw.. u lostur goddamn mind?

Gordon would heel hook him with his pinky 0.2 seconds into the first round.

Khabib and Islam would both get submitted by Kade Ruotolo who's their size, let's not even talk about Gordon Ryan it would be a joke.

Khabib is great but these 8 second clips of them looking good vs Olympians yet we have never seen them in an actual wrestling match. These gym stories of them consistently tapping ADCC champions yet for whatever reason Khabib never competed in the ADCCs? Oh and apparently Khabib trains at a kickboxing academy but never loses rounds to elite strikers, coulda been a Glory champ if he wanted. I have begun to feel his camp is a little selective about matchmaking and has realized that promoting himself and his guys as unbeatable is a great tactic but it's begun to feel very manufactured to me.
Find me a camp that doesn't do anything it can to promote fighters in its stable.
Nevertheless, the proof is in the pudding. Not everyone in said camps has produced world champs in the caliber of Khabib and Islam.
Fuck if they can't exaggerate a little. They're goddamn dominant champs

With the money he makes, it is not probable that he would accept an offer from UFC

Undoubtably he has a natural talent for BJJ but that isn’t a guarantee of MMA success. We see high level BJJ guys struggle all the time in MMA. That’s because pure BJJ, like most martial arts, doesn’t translate to MMA. Less decorated BJJers like Charles Oliveira are often more effective because they’ve found a way to adapt their BJJ and also developed striking and wrestling to complement the grappling.

Gordon was at the UFC 282 press conference and when asked about MMA, he said his coach wants him to focus on making grappling and isn’t looking to make the jump to MMA anytime soon.

Wise decision because the road to MMA won’t be easy for him. For one, he’ll have to stop the PED use meaning he’ll shrink down to MW/LHW. Then there’s his BJJ style. He doesn’t have great wrestling or athleticism and his leg lock game isn’t going to work in MMA. At his age, it’s unlikely that he can develop the wrestling to fend off the better wrestlers who can control and GnP him. He may very well end up like Rodolfo who’s often unable to use his BJJ because he can’t take anyone down.

He may not have started BJJ to make money, but he does make a lot of money...enough that he doesn't even need to consider a transition to MMA. He is focused on advancing BJJ forward as a sport...and he does care plenty about money. Just watch his post-fight interview after FBI 3 from this week for a little glimpse lol.

As for this thread...there is a world of difference between a great MMA grappler and the no-gi GOAT with a size advantage. Gordon would handle Khabib in pure grappling and it probably wouldn't take long.

Gordon likely strangled him but in MMA khabib beats him to death.

I agree but in pure MMA, Khabin turtles him into submission

I personally think Khabib would do better than most people think he would. That positioning he brings is next level and could nulify Gordon’s offense……wood watch…..

this guy should join the ufc for a monster payday, his mystique is ridiculous, one punch in the face and he could crumble like a cracker but would have secured the cheque

Come on dude. Gordon is the BJJ GOAT, in his prime, and spends all day every focused on specifically that skill. Khabib's MMA grappling is a completely different thing. Not to mention Gordon is way, way bigger than Khabib. There's really zero intrigue in this.... Gordon would do whatever he wants to Khabib in a BJJ match.

It's not at all like Conor/Floyd- In that situation, Floyd was the smaller guy and older/retired. So at least there was something there to sell to the casuals.... In this situation, every single element favors Gordon Ryan. If Gordon was old and retired and the much smaller guy.... then maybe you could sell something. But there's nothing here.
BJJ = No-Gi huh?

Muricans....
