Just wondering what DVDs that some of you have collected over time that you found were hard to come by. Here are 4 I found hard to find.

20221231_164505.jpg Jungle fight is pretty cool. Besides having Bonner vs Machida on the event, the DVD included a small Inkoi figure.

VHS of the first few years of RINGS and Pancrase..of course not really mma, but my first exposure some time in the early 90’s .

Well, actually my first exposure was probably UFC 2, but that was a rental that sent me on the hunt for more content. There wasn’t instant gratification either, you had to find somebody importing the shit and overpay AND wait.
It was a magical era tbh.

Thanks for your reply, man. That's old school (RINGS & Pancrase) & was great for the day. Bas, Frank, Ken, etc. Palm strike knockouts were are surprise to see back then.

Back in 2000 here in Australia, I could only find about the first 20 UFCs on VHS and the first 8 Prides at the video shop. After that, I started to go to a shop in Melbourne (Minotaur) to buy the NTSC versions from the US (costed about $40 each??) and then just had to buy online. They finally started to release PAL versions here, but that took years (Eagle Entertainment released them, which is a New Zealand company).

UFC 1 or 2 was the first one I watched & was hooked from there. I liked boxing as a kid, then saw kickboxing & thought, I wonder what would happen if they went to the ground. UFC tought me what was possible with the extra dimension of all round fighting/NHB/MMA.

Over here in the WEST we had this shitty discount warehouse and they sold UFC 1-22 and all the UU tournaments along with Pride 1 - warriors return ( I think it was 11), then I found UFC 30-33 at a rural music shop, it was like Christmas.

Appreciate the pics, bro. Cheers!

You sound as addicted as me. I've got all Prides, UFC 1-200 (couldn't be bothered buying after that) & heaps of other random MMA. Got a pile of K-1 japanese versions on DVD. Even have a rare francisco filho 30 man kumite vhs from 1994 (below is a pic).
Love your appreciation & dedication.20221231_191039.jpg

Following MMA use to take alot of time and effort and the excitement of stumbling upon an event in some obscure shop always brought joy. I rember I found UFC 23- 29 at this traveling DVD store that would pop in shopping centres, it was like the Holy Grail of UFC DvDs and virtually impossible to find at time.

I also have a random VHS of Stan the Man vs Maurice Smith. I think it was held in Melbourne.

Totally agree. Found some early UFC on DVD from a small stand at a market & bought all at the time.

So envious of the Stan & Mo VHS you have. I picked up the Stan VS Dennis Alexio VHS that Dennis had the broken leg from the kick (Can't believe he was in Kickboxer JCVD). Below is a pic:
