Will Sean O Malley be the biggest star in the UFC if he beats Aljo?

I think he sucks, so, if somehow he lands a hail mary, he's still no Conor.

I'm not hating either, when people were not on this o'malley hype train yet, I said he was a better striker than Yan, and tons of people disagreed back then. But this isn't k-1, this is MMA.
 
Dont think so alot of people dont know who he is plus the pink hair and that look is not for everybody.
 
As ridiculous and sad as it sounds on the surface, with a highlight reel ko... I think he actually would be...

If he beats Aljo in spectacular fashion.. and if UFC fully boost his star power, he might be the biggest star in the ufc

Not Conor's level of course, nor Brock's

I hate that we live in a world where somebody’s Professional success is based on how many online stalkers they have.
 
He seems to have been doing pretty well for himself. Exciting fighter, cool guy.
He's no conor though. That's not a knock on him, no one is. Maybe there never will be another mma fighter as main stream as mcgregor? Hope I'm wrong but that shit is rare. Its never happened any where close to that extent so far in mma history.

Eh I agree he won't be the biggest star but he's fairly known with people who are very casual MMA fans. If he wins a belt impressively I could see him getting some attention.
 
He's probably the only one who could "do a Conor", i'm not saying he will but he's the only one with that potential currently I think.

he doesnt suck at all.. not even a little bit... he is very talented.. they say his ground game is top level he just hasn't needed it... well we will see how good it is because he will get taken down... i see his length being a problem for aljo... very intriguing fight
 
no. there are soccer moms on insta gram 5 million followers who you have never heard of and prob will never even see unless you specifically look for that kind of career/individual to follow. omalley with 2.8 million followers has a long way to go (thats less than one percent of the population of the united states and thats assuming all his fans are in america, they arent...) until he hits 10-15 million+ he wont be a household name. Zabit Magomedsharipov has 2.9 million followers. Zubaira Tukhugov has nearly 4 million followers. both Zabit and Zubaira are MMA fighters with more followers than omalley . are they household names? veras leg kicks killed that hype train even if he gets a title, his rainbow hair turns away politically brainwashed mma fans, he will never be a mcgregor level superstar not even close. he wont even reach rousey level of fame.

He has to go on a run of impressive wins. Nobody thinks he beat Yan, he's sitting out for a long time. He'd need to smoke Sterling and defend the belt a few times and I dont know if he's capable of doing that. So no he wouldnt be the biggest star. right now its Conor, Jones and Izzy as the biggest stars in UFC.

By all means, sir, but aren't all the guys you named candidates for "biggest star in the UFC" with a highlight reel KO over a a reigning champion?
I think there are actually another 3 or 4 names ahead of him.
I've never been on Insta, as the kids call it as I understand, I'm just pointing out he has a following.
 
His fighting style is flashy and exciting. If he puts Sterling away he will definitely be a bigger star but I wouldn't say the biggest.
If he KO'd Sterling though, it would be the start of something big. Although I think his win over Yan was the start of something big.
