As long as he's happy I don't really care but I am pretty bummed out because I personally don't see him being more than clips of him knocking people dead in PFL. But he is going to help build the brand in Africa and gets to box so I'm guessing he's going to be happy. That 50% split though. I'm curious if the PFL can keep this kind of business going in the long run. Jake Paul is apparently signed to PFL. I'd watch the fuck out of Francis vs Jake.

Hoping they lose every single contest embarrassingly

Why so all the fans could trash him if he loses..

Mma fans are assholes half the time, the fighters don't owe them shit.
If he lost to Jones, he deserves to be laughed at cuz he would have been exposed as hype. Or at least one dimensional like Gane.

Glad he got the deal he wanted. People said he fumbled the bag, but he got big money, boxing rights, and a seat on the board. Plus secured money for his opponents. He'll build his brand up with this, and bald goof will buy him back. Ngannou vs. Jones in 2025.

Look if he's happy with the deal I'm happy for him. But there's no way any of you really believe the PFL gave him a better deal than the ufc did. Come on man.

Straight money, probably not. But he gets to box while having a pfl contract and is apparently going to be part of their freak show division "Super fight" that they created for Jake Paul. Which, to me, means he's going to get paid a lot to fight washed up boxers who want to cross over. They keep mention super fight ppv but no mention of him fighting Ante. In the ufc he doesn't get the boxing, sponsorships and has to fight Jones and Pav

Yeah and that's all cool and everything. I'm happy for him. It's just weird how many people on here think posters are mad, just because we're pointing out that he's throwing money away. Unless he gets this big boxing fight. But even then the absurd numbers people throw around for that aren't realistic either.

Last I heard he's was offered 8 mill for Jones and here is high 7 figures, getting paid to be an ambassador and gets his own sponsors. I'm not sure the gap is that big unless he was going to get a large ppv share against Jones. Then yeah, he's giving up cash...but also probably would have lost out money going forward had he lost to Jones.

Yeah, just as I thought - you don't got the answers, Sway!

You sit there and talk about what's beyond stupid while Francis earns you far, far under the table.

If you're going to do that, you're in the right place. There will be scores of other bitter humans on Sherdog making a fraction of what Francis just signed for, advising him on his money.

It's actually a bit hilarious.

EDIT: And you contradict yourself. You say it's a short window that leaves ppl with damage, and then criticize Francis for wanting executive and corporate roles to extend his career and avoid brain damage.

With any luck, in a few years you'll laugh at how immature you were in May 2023.
I quite frequently laugh at myself.
Actually, with myself.

Yeah they do those contracts with a lot of guys. The whole here's one big fight and if you lose your pay drops in half. And it's not the first time guys have left over it. If anything it's nice to see someone leave and (allegedly) get a high seven figure deal. Could lead to more leverage for guys in the future.

If anything we're still at a crossroads where we don't know if it's a net positive or not. And we won't know for years most likely. I think that's why so many people are critical of this deal. Sitting out for 2-3 years in your late 30s is often a poor idea for a fighter.
