Social CIA Operator openly admitting WMD in Iraq is a fraud

It wasn’t some shadow government though. It was Dick Cheney leading the Republican Party to do the whims of the oil companies.

I actually don’t think Bush invaded for oil. I think it was all his idea and in his mind he was righting a mistake we made in 91 by leaving Sadam alive. However, his VP definitely was all about the oil and he leveraged that by hooking up the company he was in bed with during the post war phase
I didn’t say anything about a “shadow government” why would you bring that up?

As for Cheney’s role, I won’t disagree that he had a prominent role in Iraq, but we’ve been in how many kinetic and other military engagements since then… half a dozen, a dozen?

Do you blame the Repubs for all of it?

We have not been involved in anything close to that scale since Iraq. And yes I blame them completely for Iraq

Completely?

“This left the determination as to whether the United States would go to war up to the Democratic-controlled Senate the following day. To the astonishment of many, several leading Democratic senators crossed the aisle to support the war authorization, including Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, Assistant Majority Leader Harry Reid and Foreign Relations Committee Chair Joe Biden, as well as such prominent senators as John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, John Edwards and Dianne Feinstein.”

You mean the biggest names in the Democrat party favoring Iraq war had no effect?

Who do you blame for all the other lesser scale engagements since Iraq?

Because I was alive at the time. I know who was beating the war drums. I remember how they used patriotism as a weapon against anyone that spoke out against the war.

These other engagements you’re talking about are not comparable . Like name some, because all I can think of is like small SF teams running around doing shit. That’s so far from a full scale invasion that it’s not even the same topic

The level of cognitive dissonance here is astounding

Of course they aren't to blame. They're the good guys!

You mean like how you’re a Russian agent or dupe if you oppose sending billions to Ukraine? This is the playbook used by both sides…

I’ll give you that republicans pushed the war and patriotism (one of the reasons I abandoned the party), but if top democrats- including 3 of the last 4 democrat presidential candidates, voted for it, you just can’t say they had nothing to do with it, IMO.

“In the wake of September 11th, Biden stood as a leading Democratic voice on foreign policy, chairing the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee. As President Bush attempted to sell the U.S. public on the war, Biden became one of the administration’s steadfast allies in this cause, backing claims about the supposed threat posed by Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and insisting on the necessity of removing him from power.”

Also, how can you claim Dems had no choice but to vote in favor of Iraq if a majority of them voted NO on Iraq?

That's not a rebuttal

Sure. Its an observation. Its astounding how far people will go, how much they'll ignore, and how much they'll rationalize to maintain that left/right, rep/dem paradigm.

I think that's the driving force behind the resistance and hostility toward "conspiracy theories". If you have to admit that powerful people work together to push agendas then you can no longer participate in partisan politics. You no longer get to put on your jersey, wave your pom poms, and fight with other people over fabricated ideas, social constructs, and low iq debates. Wheres the fun in that?

Probably every neckbeard's idea of what an alpha is, and every politician's idea of what a patriot is, pretty much stating what is obvious and that it's was all about money.

It used to be treasonous to talk about Iraq that way 20 years ago, now even the guys who are perceived to be heroes openly mock their 'calling'.

Now, I wonder what is considered treasonous to talk about today, but be openly mocked 20 years later?

9/11

In what way? Just so we are clear..
Afghanistan is to 9/11 as Iraq is to WMD.

“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most (?all) of them imaginary.” - H.L. Mencken

WMD, suicide pilots, shoe bomber, underwear bomber, etc are the hobgoblins.

An easy safety ritual ("Please remove your shoes." "Please wear a mask.") creates the cognitive dissonance for you to accept the greater impingements on liberty ("I need to pat your groin." "I need to read your email." "Please ignore the torturing of suspected islamoterrorists." "You need to get injected with mystery nucleotides to keep your job.").

And just think, Biden's foreign policy is being ran by the same NeoCons.
Well even some of Trump's policy was. Recall that Trump picked John Bolton, cause Trump and the GOP needed Sheldon Adelson's money. Adelson only cared about what was good for Israel, and Bolton was his guy.

What the fuck has any of that to do with 9-11? Iraq was am excuse to go plunder Iraq, afghan had fuck all to do with it , the guys who flew those planes were saudis

The planes were weapons of mass destruction.

Tread lightly my friend, that poster was alive back then

Cool, fuck Trump too.

Bolton is a War Criminal.

Weird that he's on liberal news networks now being brought on for takes though.
