I just hate a short notice fight for Volk. Even more so when he's the smaller guy and he's coming off of surgery with no camp. If he takes it, he's knows better than I do. So be it.

It only increases it to be honest. Stepping in on short notice is badass but one thing I do think it will impact is the P4P #1 just cant see Volkanovski stay above Islam with two losses.

The UFC is going to put Jones in that spot because it serves a purpose for them. Islam or Volkanovski winning probably won't change that.

I will never ever count out Volk. Easily my favorite active fighter. That said, I agree totally. If they're to fight again, I'd want to see Volk with a full camp and not fresh off a surgery. Benny not being a big name is the main reason he wont have a shot. Loss obviously plays a big factor too but weve seen UFC give Gus a shot at DC fresh off getting KOd by Rumble in Sweden.

I never got the sense Charles wanted this fight. His body language was simply not there and less than 2 weeks left and he still has not left for UAE. As much as I was rooting for Charles, he was forced into this fight and never wanted it. I think he backed out not because of injury, but some other reason.
