Khamzat Will Most Likely Lose ...

I always seem to root against Usman but this is a fight I would love to see him win. That said...I think he is going to have a difficult time pulling it off.

Older, shot knees, short notice, bigger weight class. Chimaev has been training to fight Costa who is a super strong MW.

Obviously got paid big time by the UFC (or Saudi's) to make this fight happen. Usman may be in great shape and we don't know it...but I think the cards are pretty much stacked against him.

I am still gonna throw $50 on Usman...it could happen. UFC has Usman at +285, most betting site at +235-240 so pretty decent return if he does win!

I hate seeing decorated, former champions being fed to potentially future ones, on paper, Khamzat should win, that said, I'm hoping Usman does, just to piss off Dana. Osman needs to just pace himself, don't try and make a statement and rely on all that octagon experience if he wants any chance of winning.

The young eat the old, it's always been that way unfortunately sir.

I wonder how much the UFC is paying Usman for this.....

Who do you have in the main and Co main sir?

I got Islam in the main by a wide UD, with Alex acquitting himself well for 10 days notice. I feel like Islam has been improving his striking so much from fight to fight, and I think he has a better chance at being more effective his grappling in this situation. Real shame that we're not seeing this fight with both guys at 100%.

Co main is a bit trickier IMO. I think either Khamzat absolutely blows Usman out of the water early, or Usman wins a close decision. I don't think Khamzat will be able to just toss Usman around, but I think he's just going to have too much horsepower for Usman to handle. I'd guess a TKO in the first for Khamzat, but wouldnt be super shocked if Usman manages to make it an ugly, drawn out affair where either guy could win.

What's your thoughts?

This is a make-or-break fight for both fighters.
  • Khamzat = a 1.5-round fighter.
  • Kamaru = a 5-round fighter.
  • Khamzat struggled with Gilbert Burns, for 3 straight rounds, it was an ordeal.
  • Kamaru struggled with Gilbert Burns, for 30 seconds, after which he pieced him up, and kicked his ass, finishing him.
Conclusion:
Khamzat Chimaev has about 1.5 rounds of "chance" against Usman, after which Usman's quality, experience, and longevity will break Chimaev into pieces.

Barring an early, quick, KO, I have Usman breaking Khamzat, who may soil the UFC floor by the pressure, especially if this is a 5-rounder.
Why would this be a 5 rounder?

By how tired, and wobbly, he was ... after a 3-round fight with (former LW) Burns?

The same Burns who was annihilated by Usman, and only had 50 seconds of control ... before being completely overwhelmed.

What evidence do YOU have that the young, unschooled, undisciplined Chimaev (who barely beat the same Burns, Usman destroyed) has a snowballs chance in hell of beating Usman?

Please cite your references of their other common opponents, thanks estimation point

By your math, Dan Hooker should be able to go up to 170 (or 185) and feed Khamzat to the canvas.

Damn, you're all over the place in that co main lol.
I kinda hear you though, that one is a weird one.

Im hoping Islam holds off Alex, I don't care how he does it tbh.

I think Khamzat having a full camp will make a difference, and the wrestling might cancel each other out.
If that happens that will be Usmans best chance, but if Khamzat wins the wrestling battle it could get ugly for Usman.

So in short, I'd like Islam and Khamzat sir.

People need to remember Khamzat fought Burns at his game. Khamzat is still knew to MMA, having his first MMA fight in 2017 and debuting in UFC 2020. He is only 29 and will learn to control his emotions in the cage. He is the greatest prospect.

I don't even think its UFC fluff. It is just a loud segment of Sherbros that would massage Chimaev's feet given the opportunity.

Until Bryce Mitchell appears.

That story stinks worse than he does sir lol.

If you told me 3-4 years ago, I would have picked Usman over Chimaev via destruction in a welterweight fight. This fight is happening at 185 lbs and Usman isn’t nowhere near the same guy. Too old. Chimaev has been pretty inactive but he still have youth on his side.

I think Chimaev can and will win. It wont be a walk in the park, though.
