I was humiliated because the boxer beat the former MMA fighter?

Also, in case you have difficulties reading, this is the BOXING FORUM. We've built a community here where we just discuss boxing. We're not antisocial weirdos, like you, who feel the need to enter other forums to brag about split decision losses.

Yeah a boxing forum IN AN MMA website you imbecile. If I gave enough of a damn about you I would check out your post history on the fight to see if you were spouting the obvious anti-MMA rhetoric and thought Fury would steamroll Ngannou, but I don't.

Here are some notable people who doubted Francis’s decision:

Dana White - Said Francis is not worth the money he asked for. The UFC publicly smeared him and Dana taunted Francis saying he wouldn’t amount to anything outside of the UFC.

Daniel Cormier - Said Francis needs to “bite the bullet” and return to the UFC. Said there’s not much Francis could accomplish without the UFC and that his “choices are limited.”

Chael Sonnen - Said Francis “looked like a deer in the headlights” since leaving the UFC. Said Ngannou and his team have no idea what they’re doing. Said Francis “shot himself in the foot.”

Jon Jones - Said Ngannou left the UFC to avoid a fight with him.

Sean O’Malley - Said Ngannou “made the biggest mistake of his life leaving the UFC.”

Chael only speaks the truth, he never said anything even remotely close to that.
Omalley didn't actually mean it, said it sarcastically.
Jon Jones was paid to say that by Hunter to hype himself up.
Dana and Cormier are being completely taken out of context and misquoted.

I don't think anyone was doubting Francis.

We all knew what was going to happen after Fury (who never took him seriously) felt the power of a Ford Escort.

Agree that Tyson is better equipped to adapt to a rematch, but...

Wilder is a bad night for Ngannou.

The problem Fury had is that he didn't present enough of a danger to command respect and get Francis to stay back and shell up. Wilder would not have that problem. Wilder has the crazy long reach too, and speed accuracy and power.

If Wilder is still anything like his prime self, he is a bad night for most boxers, Francis included.

The openings were there in Ngannous defense, Fury just didn't want to risk getting hit. Wilder would find Francis' chin and sleep him.

It would be fun, but imo that is the worst option Ngannou could pursue.
Great post! I agree 100%. Terrible style match-up for frank. He should try and fight a Joseph Parker, he could win that fight.

I also think chisora would take him to hell and back too

I'm a Fury fan and can't stand these crossover shows, especially the YouTuber shit, but this is a baaaaaad look for Fury. You really can't call yourself greatest heavyweight of all time when you just barely split with an mma guy with zero amateur and professional boxing experience. That's just bad. No excuses.

Would love to see Ngannou channel his inner Shannon Briggs.

Every single time Fury opens his mouth.

Except Ngannou LOST the fight.

I don't want to have to use "knuckle draggers" to describe the MMA fanbase, but you really have no choice.

Here are the facts:

Mercer was 0-0 in MMA when he knocked out 24-5 Tim Sylvia (In the first round, mind you). Both former champs in their respective sport.

Ngannou was 0-0 in Boxing when he LOST by split decision to 33-0-1 Tyson Fury. Both former (current) champs in their respective sport.

Ngannou's boxing record currently is 0-1. Tyson Fury's boxing record is 34-0-1.

knuckle draggers, who are also deeply antisocial, are flooding the boxing forum bragging about a split decision loss.

But there is nothing unusual about an elite boxer (yes even a fat old one) being able to knock out an MMA fighter early. The untrained (in MMA) boxer always has that chance. Everyone, who isn't a retard, understands that in this moment the boxer has his full range of tools and can land a shot against an inferior boxer. The intrigue of the 'boxer vs wrestler' dynamic that pre-dated MMA was always about this simple dynamic.

Tim Sylvia got dropped by a 100-year-old wrestler in nearly the exact same way. Yes, it was embarrassing for MMA when he lost to Mercer but there was nothing amazing about it. It was just a sh*t boxer showing he is prone to early fight napping getting laid out by a heavy-handed good boxer. That can happen in MMA.

This is the opposite. This is the guy going up against the specialist at the elite specialist's own game. He should have had no chance.

That you can't understand why Francis doing that to Fury is MUCH more unusual and more frankly embarrassing for boxing, all you are saying is 'I don't even understand the basic premise of MMA'. Which means you are the one dragging your knuckles around.

Here's another important point: Ngannou arguably won a boxing match against Fury, while Gane outstruck Ngannou clearly when they fought.
Why strike when even Francis saw Gane has a massive wrestling disadvantage even when he had a bum knee LOL

Man i dont wanna see it. I wanna see Fury vs others. Yeah he looked like trash but im a sports fan and not a just bleed god type of guy-

The hardest thing is working your way up and earning a shot.

Pretty much 95% of all the pro MMA fighters but the harshest criticism came from JDS, Gilbert Burns, and Anthony Smith.

At least Sean Strickland, Stipe, Usman, Israel, and Overeem were very supportive of Francis decision before the fight. Now the fight is over, every fighter has become fairweather fan to Francis when they turned their backs before on him saying it was just going ot be another way for shit on MMA in boxing because JAke Paul was winning again overthehill fighters

Good post. It’s shameful how so many MMA fans/media trashed Ngannou’s choices but are now using his performance as win for the sport.

What?

“It’s the most ridiculous sporting competition of our lifetime,”

“What kind of a scumbag is Fury, though, man? I’ve really got to tell you: Fury broke my heart,” Sonnen said. “I liked this guy, and I liked the entertainment. I like so many things about him. You take a guy like Fury, who God made huge, gave great coaches, great training partners, great experiences, too – he has weapons and tools that other men can’t deal with if they’re not armed.

“And he’s going to choose to use those to beat up a guy who’s at least 37 with no experience and is on one leg? That’s a bully, and it’s a scumbag. I would never do that to somebody. Jesse James made a lot of money, and there’s hitmen that made a lot of money. I mean, there’s things that you can do, but you own it. You’re a bully, and you’re a scumbag.”

also

“Francis did a show yesterday with a gentleman, who is kind of a business show (host),” Sonnen told MMA Junkie Radio after he hosted a BKFC 41 news conference Tuesday at Palms Resort Casino. “The guy was breaking it down and he was asking Francis some very basic questions about the business of MMA. Francis, he looked like a deer in the headlights. He didn’t have the foggiest idea how to respond. I thought maybe he was past that, he had been around, he looked around, and kind of saw where some of the numbers came from, he saw what made sense. I think now that maybe he was still of the mindset of, ‘I knocked out three guys in a row and therefore,’ as if that just created money from the MMA money tree.”

Every single person the ts quoted is delusional, and their opinion holds little weight due to their lack of credibility especially Dana and Jon

I agree.

I think he didn't train nor watch footage. Came off the couch and canvas. Easily won on points.

If it was 12rds, I think he KOs Francis stiff. If it was him training, it doesn't escape rd1. He took Francis lightly.

The mma pods full of crying soyboys are hilarious. They thought 0-0 fighter was getting a W? <Lmaoo>

They probably think Santa is real and brli3ve in the tooth fairy. <Moves>

Compubox shows Fury EASILY out pointed Francis. Power puncher had more power punches.

Francis threw and landed less then 6 punches in thr championship rd.<Eek2.0>

I definitely would still favor Fury in the rematch. I had Francis winning or a draw on my scorecards. Point deduction wouldn't have mattered by judges as they'd have still seen a draw. That elbow was 100% intentional and the hardest thing Fury landed all night. He really wasn't able to get anything off all night other than some jabs or the tail end of a hook.

People who doubted Francis: Everyone in the world

Francis also gassed, and performed much better than Conor from start to finish. Was competitive all the way through and even knocked Fury down. Conor looked like a joke against Floyd - a 40 year old Floyd who was retired, a former 130 pounder, who fought wiht the same urgency he would sparring one of his daughters.

The incessant Conor hate just makes people look green. He won several rounds of that bout despite corrupt boxing judges. He put up a good performance but just got tired.
