The guys who work the Christmas tree lots.
Some are owner/contractors who are tasting the profits, but some are just hired help, I think.

The last few years I've tipped $5 on the tree. The guy seemed like it was unexpected.

This year, I was kind of disgruntled about the higher prices, had no bills below $20 after paying, and prior guys seemed surprised, so I didn't. And this guy seemed disappointed.

Anyone know how they get paid and what they make?
What sayeth the Mayberry on tree tipping?

He grabbed a chainsaw to do a quick bottom cut, ran it through the hoop to net it, and carried a short distance.

So he remembered you from a year ago for tipping an entire five dollars? There goes his Christmas. Way to go, pal! You’ve ruined Christmas!

PS- Literally, none of this ever happened.

He deserved a couple bucks for the effort, you shouldve Venmo'd him

Said it was a different guy

I don't Venmo, ApplePay, GooglePay or any of that sort of shit. Usually don't carry cash, either, but did for this, because I suspected (correctly) they wouldn't take cards.

Tipping a $5 or $10 note seems OK from a holiday-broke person.

You couldve asked them to change a 20

Buddy is stuffing his jean pockets with cash and then also got a tip from someone who bought exactly what he was selling from where he was selling it for the price he wanted.

What was the tip for?

He must have been baffled by the extra cash.

I’ve never thought about tipping for trees.

My dad bought a tree from a rehab center. They are all ex/recovering addicts with really good attitudes. Some with face tattoos and no teeth. I wonder if anyone tipped them.

Actually I remember they had a tip jar.

Well I'm baffled when I go to Subway and it asks for a tip.

As for tipping the tree guy. Absolutely I would top for that if it's a good guy. Should of just gave him a 20 ........ it's Christmas brah.

No tipping, ever.

You need to go back and give them a big mac.
