Opinion If you were president of the USA, what would you do?

What are these expectations and entitlements you find problematic? Which programs?
Oh man, that could take days....

So much fat needs trimming imo.

1) Ruthlessly enforce all anti-trust and anti-competitive laws. This instantly drops healthcare costs to somewhere around 10-20% of what it currently is and takes care of much of the collusion & price fixing in the financial sector as well. Also kills Amazon as a bonus.

2) Glass-Steagall and all other depression era banking laws are back and fully enforced. This takes care of most of the financial fraud and bullshit in the banking system.

3) Shitloads of investments in heavy industry. We can't build bridges, nuke plants, or even large transformers since we can't even make many of the high quality steels that are needed for them. And even if we could, we don't have the tooling to turn that steel into the finished product.

4) All student loans are fully dischargeable in bankruptcy. This will fuck up the college system in the short to medium term, but it's the only way to bring costs back down without massive government overreach.

5) No more of this permanent emergency war powers shit. If you want a war, go through Congress and declare a war, otherwise no funding for you. You want to fund Ukraine & Israel? Fine. But you need to declare war on Russia and all the Arabs and pass it through Congress with a super majority. This takes care of many of the BS foreign interventions.

6) Education reform. Angry nuns with rulers are back. We're going to have standards, and we're gonna fail the fuck out of every student who doesn't meet them.

IDGAF about wokeness, LGBQT rights, abortion, drugs, or other social issues. None of that matters when the US literally can't build the infrastructure it needs to keep the lights on and the vast majority of the population are debt slaves.

I'd vote for ya!

Most of an annual DOD audit report is just saying how many segments/departments failed the audit. There's absolutely no excuse for the DOD to not have gotten its shit together given they've had at this point probably a decade too. It should be pretty straight forward, if your department can't pass an audit within x amount of time, you're stripped of funding or its frozen at current levels. I guarantee that would get the house in order quite fast. I'm not even a budget hawk and pretty understanding of the "rounding" the Pentagon uses, but it's pretty ridiculous at this point.

There is real value in the audits, though it's flawed. I agree that the DOD isn't doing as well as it should, though I think they do have to be graded on a curve for the incredibly difficult job. But that's very different from the assertion that, like, trillions of dollars are missing or something, and I would not have high expectations for any tangible benefits to better accounting there.

• Free healthcare like Canada for all US citizens. Hold big pharma accountable. Legalize marijwana.

• Overturn every single one of Biden and crazy Kamala’s bills. Just like they did to Trump out of spite. Democrat bills are absolute trash.
This is a good example of hyperpartisanshit.

Your first dot point demonstrates that you realize the need for health care reform.

Your second dot point demonstrates that in all likelihood you cheered the destruction of attempted health care reform because the attempt didn't come from "your side"

Rather than addressing issues you have with "solutions" you just throw them in the garbage and pat yourself on the back for it.

Alright, so what are the top 5 entitlement programs you find the most odious? Because most people vastly overestimate the scale and ease of entitlements.

I would argue trillions are missing over a period of years or decade, but even then missing usually just means rounding and sloppy book keeping, not outright theft. Nevertheless, that's bad enough and should have been stamped out years ago. I legitly think Kevin from the office has an argument for doing better accounting than the DoD at this point.

At this point, the Pentagon did not make any improvements in passable audits YoY for 2023, that's inexcusable. DoD is obviously complicated, but the fact that Walmart or Amazon can master just-in time stock and shopping for billions of orders and offer tracking across the supply chain and customer journey is pretty damning.

Welfare/social assistance. Plain and simple. There are so many public systems that could use labour for upkeep, putting people collecting assistance to work. There was a time when "being on the dole" was a shameful thing, and only used in dire situations. Most would do their best not to speak of it. Now you can make a literal career choice on public assistance. Everything and every fucking reason under the sun. Somebody will pay for it. It's bullshit.

And it's a general attitude. It can't be pinpointed to a few social systems. It's a prevailing attitude that keeps worsening with each generation.

If there are so many, why can't you name a single one you want cut or reformed? It honestly sounds like you're talking about an issue you do not understand.

Any survey data on this or actual stats, besides what your gut tells you?

Nah, time to shed the nonsense that keeps fueling babies being bombed in 2023. Ignorance is no longer a valid excuse. The theatre needs to end.
yeah... the conversation has moved on from where you are and you are just to slow to have caught up yet. atheism is dead... it died. it took a ton of good from people and had absolutely nothing to offer in return. its an entirely new conversation being had now.

im surprised you haven't noticed the shift honestly.

Here's a real-time data centre for you smartass.

Everything is fine bro.

Atheist? You're all over the place bud, and I've explained this before. Nothing wrong at all with faith. Organized religion is the problem. Abrahamic nonsense is the greatest destructive force mankind has ever seen. Christians, Muslims, Jews. All of that theatrical nonsense can disappear.

You're right, intelligent people have moved on from the horseshit. lol

And you're attributing that to "welfare and entitlements," despite a third of that unfunded liability being because of Medicare and Social Security. Otherwise known as welfare for old people, with skyrocketing costs driven by the share of elderly Americans exploding due to a population on the wrong side of the aging curve? Solving that funding problem is done by increasing taxation, unless you think we need to cut either of those benefits, both which have been remarkedly successful at reducing poverty.

No one is saying there isn't room for improvement. But come on, you can't even name 3 welfare programs you want improved or scrapped? Can you even name one?

Declare war on Mexico and Canada, and just take them over for kicks.

What's the point of being the most powerful leader on Earth, and not have some fun with it and make some history?

i mean... you have to be completely ignorant about the entire topic to say something like this above.... its indefensible frankly..... its like you have no idea what you are talking about at all.....

also if your "faith" is a viable alternative to authentic spiritual paths then lay out the basic framework for states of consciousness along the way to some kind of enlightenment along with the means to reproduce them reliably in others.... because all authentic religions on this planet can do that much.

I guess I would bring the downfall of America by accidental kindness.

I would deport everyone who is not from America whom arrived or was born after the Vikings landed. And give the country back to it’s rightful inhabitants.

My people would have their land back, and then it would quickly fall into dysfunction due to not having enough of the people educated enough to run the everyday functions of society.

our casinos would crumble and we would become migrators, the circle would be complete.
You’d be saying, “ here we go again” about 3 days later
If I was president, I’d pull the plug on a few of your casino’s for being so ungrateful

What would I do? Well, probably something along the lines of Nixon in Futurama

Kick out every illegal and build a wall. Charge every criminal to the fullest extent of the law from then on. Hire more cops and put them back in schools. You know common sense stuff. Basically the opposite of what mentally ill libs do.
