I read that Ankalaev wants to keep it standing……
idk, he's almost 37 and if he gets completely dominated by Ankalaev's grappling, maybe just fun interesting fights til he retires. Izzy, Gane ect. PAVLOVICH!?He really should stay at LHW hahaha
until Alex lands a couple of leg kicksI read that Ankalaev wants to keep it standing……
And all Ankalaev needs to do is take him down and he wins. What’s stopping Poatan from drilling take down defense day and night for 12 weeks? All he has to do is keep it standing and he wins.
They'll just not put him in there w blaydes lmaoi still don't know what Pereira is thinking going to HW. yeah, he's big enough to STRIKE with HWs, but can he take the hits? can he withstand the grappling from someone the size of Curtis Blaydes? these are huge factors at HW.
Haha no he’s not a hw by any means and moving up to hw would be a huge mistake. He has a narrow frame, hate to say it but chicken legs made of concrete though, he’s just a naturally lean human being. If he moved to hw, he’d be a bloated mess at this stage in his life. I got to meet Alex in salt lake for the week, I’m 6’3 barefoot at 248-251 lean muscular and I dwarfed him in mass big time. You could also see when he was sitting next to aspinal, Alex was trying to measure up and he right there realized that he was really undersized next to aspinal. Alex doesn’t have the luxury of Jon Jones to take 2 years off and come back at hwidk, he's almost 37 and if he gets completely dominated by Ankalaev's grappling, maybe just fun interesting fights til he retires. Seems like he still has room to add muscle/bulk to his massive frame to do well against HW strikers.
"I have the height and the size of a heavyweight, I can definitely fight at heavyweight, maybe some day in the future. But it’s got to be something that’s well planned." - Pereira last month
My point preciselyuntil Alex lands a couple of leg kicks
They'll just not put him in there w blaydes lmao
Poor curtis
There've been some MWs/LHWs who've fought at HW and had success tho. Hendo, Rumble, Couture ect. I'd imagine he's trained with plenty of HWs and has a pretty good idea about his chances, even before he's added some good weight to his frame.Haha no he’s not a hw by any means and moving up to hw would be a huge mistake. For sure Derrick will never get that fight either. Its pointless. Poatan is and always will be an anomaly, and thus.he will basically just fight top level mostly strike oriented fighters for the rest of his career. UFC would be stupid as fuck to match Lewis with him.yeah but there are other big HWs who can grapple, at least better than Pereira has currently shown. like if Black Beast or Gane got on top of him i have a feeling they'd just pound him out rather easily.
