So allegedly they ganged up on the guy and beat him up and humiliated him, something I have been lead to believe isn't an uncommon occurrence with Dagistanis, and then the guy took his revenge.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. {<shrug}

I think a lot of you Sherdoggers underestimate how wild and crazy stuff gets in eastern europe/kaukasus.
Guns are probably not as rare as a lot of you seem to think, the russian mafia is almost everywhere in the world it is not some Kumite only over there just because a lot of them are good fighters.

I read a report that the guy who got shot beat up the shooter and this was revenge.
You gotta be careful using your fighting skills like that to humiliate other men for no reason or you end up up like this, that other one eyed dagestani beat up somebody with his wife in a mall if i remember...

It just furthers the idea that it is ALWAYS best to avoid altercations whenever possible, especially with random people. We usually have very little idea what any particular person is willing and able to do, and it is foolish to believe that everyone will behave logically. The things that some people will do merely out of a perceived sense of 'disrespect' are astounding (never mind if you have some kind of previous altercation with them, as appears to have been the case here).
100%. I assume EVERYONE is packing these days and is one hair away from using whatever they have, from the teen that cut me off on the highway to the granny that is complaining about me taking too long at the check-out. I always try to deescalate and walk away. Defend yourself and your family and friends, but other than that, its not worth it.

What a waste of a life.

Everyone is only worth a bullet or a blade. Whether you are Jon Jones or some unranked fighter.

If it is true what he was accused of doing, then damn, you cant be doing that shit as a trained fighter, not just because of the responsibilities you have as a sportsman, but because of the unpredictability of the response from untrained individuals.

The person that was attacked knows they have no chance in hand-to-hand combat against a trained fighter, so they resort to weapons. He would have most likely still been alive if he was an untrained person himself, honestly.

Not justifying the murder because this isn't self-defense anywhere in the world, even tribal laws consider this murder, but you have to keep your head straight as a fighter and avoid confrontations with untrained people or this might happen.

Crazy shit.

I'm wondering if the mocking him afterwards was the determining factor of him deciding to take it to the finality level.

Sad situation, all around.

Had this guy made any political gestures? Was he critical of the government? They will make you disappear in Russia. It doesn't seem like they would just send one assassin, usually they will take control of the body and report an accident (recent news headlines- Noted Putin critic reportedly fell to his death from a tall building).

While this doesn't look like a state sponsored hit, I would be suspicious of what Russia's state-controlled media reports in general. Not going all conspiracy, just saying in Russia, conspiracies are not the imaginary fears that conspiracy people in America fantasize about and use to justify their narrative, they are real.

This might be the funniest post I've ever read. In Russia, conspiracies are REAL, not like in the US.

Holy shit.

Let me guess, you believe that those exclusively on the opposite side of the political spectrum from you are conspiring to kill people like you and make you miserable in the US?

Good guess. Wrong on every count. You are an amazing example of how effective brainwashing can be. "State sponsored media" in Russia. Not like the fine, objective media in the US. State sponsored hits. You assassinated your own president on more than one occasion. You probably think Russia is evil for invading the Ukraine, completely unaware that the US backed a coup that overthrew a democratically elected Government there. Then there's Vietnam. Iraq. Afghanistan. And the rest.

You're a mindless drone. No offence.

For the record, I am not American and I don't live in America. Imagine that.
