What Do You Think Are Some Of The Worst Movies Ever Made?

The worst film I ever saw is kind of unknown although it had an impressive cast (Salma Hayek, John Malkovich, Burt Reynolds, Lucy Liu, Rhys Ifans, David Schwimmer, Saffron Burrows) and was directed by Mike Figgis, who did Leaving Las Vegas. It's called Hotel. It was bad and so pretentious I couldn't fap to Hayek or Reynolds for a full 10 years after seeing it

I always think these kinds of threads are weird. There's so much absolutely unwatchable shit out there from film makers who can't even do basic shit like mix audio.

To see people calling major motion pictures 'the worst movies ever' is just silly. Can you understand the dialogue in the movie? Then it's not even close to the bottom 10%.

O.P. Turns out that I can't reply to you if I block you so I'll think about it, answer the thread and then block you.

Terminator 2 indeed. "Oh, I'm so controversial".

First of all, I'll just say that "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" doesn't apply. It was misunderstood, not bad.

The one that comes to mind for me is "Signs". Obviously not the worst movie ever made, but the hype and blind praise that piece of shit got, seals it for me. Only movie I've ever actually walked out on at the theater.
What
It scared the shit out of me

Probably the worst movie to win an Oscar for best picture is Shakespeare in Love. And it beat out Saving Private Ryan.

Not that shakespeare desired an Oscar but Saving Private Ryan is not a great war flick. It's very "big hollywood budget goes to WW2" and felt like a fun disney ride was taking you on a little tour of their version of a war that lacked the real darknesses or exploration of the fucked up psyche of war.

Thin Red Line is by far the better piece of art.

Thin Red Line and Saving Private Ryan has different styles/approaches of their interpretation of WWII and they both work well in their execution. It's apples and oranges imo.

One uses the backdrop of war to provide spectacular entertainment which you can argue whether that's a bad thing morally but it did do it well.

and other uses to war explore the toll of war on humanity and the pysche.

Exactly, couldn't have said it better.
