Merab VS Henry is one of the highest level fights of the year.... But I cant seem to get excited for it

The wrestling heavy scrambles should be absolute fireworks whenever both these men do tie up. I expect Merab to attempt some sneaky takedowns and Cejudo to show some beautiful counters most likely attempting takedowns too and with both men being shorter powerful boxers they might make for a grimy stand up war too.


Neither man is really known for being power punchers but both have flashed power in the past and with Merab's size and aggression Cejudo might make the adjustment from being too passive last time out to go for the kill her more often than not.



The chance of a finish feels low but I doubt this isn't an insanely high level fight.

i’m interested in it, which is more than i can say for a lot of fights these days. henry is very old and he’s going up against a guy who has perhaps the best cardio of anyone in the ufc. based on how merab fought yan (spamming takedowns), henry is probably going try to do same thing and make merab play defense all fight. idk if he’ll have the stamina for that, but he’ll probably try.

Im intriqued. Merab just shoots and shoots but I assume he is going to need more in this one. He can also strike with insane volume and this will probably be his approach vs Henry .
I wonder if Henry will kick the leg. It will probably come down to who wins the big moments. Merab aint a top control guy but he can dictate the phase of any fight. Henry might slow down in latter rounds. Im thinking Merab edges it in close fight.

Combination of factors at play here, the main one being the depth on the card. Ian Garry, Paulo Costa, & Volk are 3 of the most popular fighters on the roster, & all 3 are involved in bangers.

Easy to overshadow Merab/Henry with fights that dwarf them in excitement on paper.

It will look pretty similar to Merab vs Aldo or Yan imo. Merab doesn't need to ragdoll the olympian, just wall and stall him with knees to the thigh and armpunches which he should be able to do with his size and cardio advantages. Then maybe get a takedown when Henry gets tired.

I was looking forward to that in Aldo VS Merab but I saw Merab wall n stalling Aldo and humping his legs against the fence failing TDs for 10+ minutes
