MMA striking just got put in its place BADLY

Naw dude fuck that

Boxing is basically a “Who can use their hands the best” competition.

If you area 50 year old man that means you have used your hands all of your life for everything you ek they are your main tool and one would assume a person has mastery of their own appendages. I would correctly guess that in nearly all cases and older person 50 would defeat a younger person 5 in “Whose hands can do the dopest shit”

However if we increase the age of the younger person to a mere 15 instead of 5 years old, the matchup between 50 vs 15 in HandGoBoom becomes a much more tightly contested contest.
Although length of time lived does give an individual more time to train for specific activities, there are still strives to be made regarding methods of training that can produce vast effects in terms of skill development vs total training time especially favoring who you train with, what y’all are doing who are the coaches are there any bad naked bitches in the Jiu Jitsu class?

Wait, you have a 2002 join date? And you can't distinguish an MMA striking match from professional boxing?
...Don't you remember how pathetic McConor looked against PBF in their boxing match?
...Now put Joshua and PBF in a cage with Ngannou and McConor in a MMA rules match. Joshua and PBF would look quite foolish also, and get roasted.

Bad bad look for the standup side of MMA.

Is this payback from boxing fans who had their entire life shattered after a D Tier striker went 12 rounds (and dropped) the P4P best HW in a long time?

The real loser is kickboxing.

How the fuck do you consider Big Frank using only boxing as MMA striking?

If it was MMA striking there would have been kicks and clinch strikes, in which case AJ would have been lucky to survive the first round.

Oh I didnt realise that fight was kickboxing/muay thai rules.

Seriously though what is it with the boxing grandpas incessantly trolling the UFC section of a predominantly MMA forum all the time?

How is it MMA striking? It's boxing.

lol stop…. Ngannou was facing much smaller 40something year old CTE wash ups in an embarrassing MMA division that pays peanuts to 200lbs+ athletes… he couldn’t even measure speed or distance against a proper athlete like AJ, he looked clueless and what’s even worse than his windmilling striking is his inept and utter lack of defense. Bros completely uneducated on the matter… it’s sad to see that this guy can’t properly shoulder roll or even operate a semi decent high guard. He eats punches flush.

Long story short, if an athlete like AJ hit him with 4 ounce gloves he would’ve been sent flying back to Cameroon.

Ngannu isn't known as a versatile striker anyways, he won all mma fights with punches, not with lowlicks or spinning kicks
the striking range and defensive techniques are different.

AJ could very possibly KO Ngannou from clinch also. Ngannou would be safest and wisest shooting a takedown immediately. If AJ were to fight MMA striking he could also train to prepare for that like Ngannou prepared for boxing. Cross training is a thing, but since he's earning $50 million per fight vs $500,000 for top end MMA hes never needed to explore that.

Well, yeh, that's what everyone expected to happen lol. He's a bum boxer who landed a lucky shot against Fury, who didn't take him seriously. He then got outpointed for the rest of the fight by Fury in half ass mode.

He was never going to do anything other than get wrecked by a guy like AJ, who was serious and can actually box. Mid-level boxers would have smashed Frank as well.

But that doesn't change the fact that he wasn't using MMA striking. He was using his shit-tier attempt at boxing. If it was MMA, he would have had kicks and clinch strikes, which AJ has no training for. Having those tools makes a big difference, and none of them were available.

Lol at the shoulder roll or high guard comments. Brother, he was never gonna use any of that stuff. Dude wouldn't even know what you're talking about haha. Movement and defense are pretty different in MMA, where you're using smaller gloves and standing in front of each other way less. He got in there and did what he knew as a boxer, which was nothing.

If he does do more boxing, unless he fights an absolute can or something, he's likely going to just get walloped again.

I agree with most of this, but where I slightly differ in opinion is that I believe he’s not a very skilled MMA fighter. He’s very limited and labored in his MMA skillset.

When has Ngannou thrown nice kicks with good set ups and sprung back to defensive position? He hasn’t, he’s slow and labored.

I think he’s more of a product of having fought bottom of the barrel HW athletes in the worst UFC HW division to date.

When guys like Black Beast and Rozenstruik were at the top of the rankings, you know the roster is depleted.

Not if you take it for what it is. I.e an inappropriate match up.
The commentators/ reporters are as much to blame as anyone - spouting nonsense to the casuals.

Ngannou is essentially an amateur level boxer. AJ is a legit HW Chsmpionship level fighter and recent unified world Champ.

Forget the Fury fight. That was complete bollocks and even then was a one-sided match no matter what people try and tell you.
