I was rooting for Tybura desperately just by the sheer fact of not having to suffer through another disgusting shoey ritual. Thankfully, another shoey catastrophe was averted. Was so happy when he submitted bam-bam very easily.

I thought Tai would beat him at this stage of their careers, but Marcin did exactly what he needed to do.

Crowded him, put him on his back then hammered him with an almost comical amount of GnP shots upside the dome, before gurgling him with a relentless choke.

Tuivasa is a tough hombre, but he got worked in this one.

Tybura will never be champion but he is a warrior. This ain't the first time I've seen him fight through some tough shit and turn it around a moment later.
It's crazy to me he has had 19 UFC fights he just flys under my radar and is so forgettable but 12-7 is a pretty decent record only finished 4 times.

He's a beast of a grappler (by HW standards) and has the cardio to outlast a lot of guys. But his problem is he's so slow and heavyfooted. That's why Gane was able to tee off on him and not get close to taken down.
A bit more speed and athleticism on his entries would make him a problem for the division but he just doesn't have it.

Tuivasas ground game was TERRIBLE tonight.

My instincts tell me I could probably remove the caveat of that statement, but I don't have enough memories of him on the ground.

Didnt JDS also completely embarass Tai on the ground? I could be mis remembering that, but I have that impression from their fight. And I love JDS but he isn't exactly Khabib.

That was BAD. Did he even TRY to hip escape, shrimp or squirm to create a scramble or some space?
He got caught in a "gift wrap" which I don't recall very many elite fighters getting caught in.

I think you mean Gane vs Spivac

19 fights. Wow. I was like "that can't be right."
