A large volume attack could certainly have the potential to overwhelm air defenses.

It would almost also certainly lead to a strong reprisal from Israel with rumors of an EMP weapon to be used on Iran as retaliation.
Not to mention military brass and Israeli leadership have been waiting for the right excuse to bomb Iran’s nuclear program.

I don’t see how this doesn’t lead to a severe escalation, unless they succeed in doing zero damage.

A major attack on Israel would invite retaliation Iran simply could not survive, and they know it.
