Crime Sydney church stabbing: crowds clash with police after bishop stabbed during mass

Wow... Yeah it was actually posted that the Bishop's wishes were for people to pray for the attacker. I say just keep him in custody and make sure he doesn't get out. The Bishop never insults other people's viewpoint or religions; he just sticks to his truth. He has even defended the people in Gaza. And this kid decides to attack him?? Sick.

I must say it's good when you see a religious figure talk the talk, like when the Pope forgave the guy who tried to kill him.

And this is just a fucked story, not a good few days for my country unfortunately.

According to AFP news agency, the neighbourhood is a hub for Sydney's small Christian Assyrian community, many of whom have fled persecution and war in Iraq and Syria.

Wtf?

That's very specific....

Iraqui Assyrian

I must have missed the rally where Trump advocated for stabbing Christian Bishops in the face...
That's just because you misunderstood my post man. I didn't blame this instance on Trump at all. I was responding to a very particular comment by a person about mean tweets...

Never mind that he probably has shitty parents or got wrapped up in a radical religious and ideological viewpoints. It was really Trump giving this Australian the green light to go stab a bishop.

You're usually pretty level headed but this is about as TDS as it gets.
Dude my comment did not even remotely try to blame Trump for what just happened man. It was a response to a s***** post from someone.

He was a lone wolf
He was mentally ill
He was seen drinking and eating pork before this
Racism caused this
Part and parcel
Not all Muslims

I am sure I am missing some of the others usual deflections and excuses that are made when the same thing happens over and over again.
Probably had a brain tumor

Didn't even realise the Assyrians were still around, I just remember them being big into torture and dismemberment back in the day so cutting off the guys fingers seems right up their alley.
I met a girl online who was Assyrian and kept ranting about her people having no nation 😂

Oh his name was Joel Cauchi …

Cope

The irony of the white man claiming terrorist.

Lets all speculate for 20 pages if this is Islamic terror or not.
What's funny is muslims think jews did it because of him showing sympathy to Palestine. Maybe he did but any time i see videos of this guy, he is destroying muslims with facts lol

Okay, still not following your point. Did assholes not exist prior to Trump's presidency?

Have y'all seen the hand of the assailant with some of his fingers chopped off?

Yeesh.
The picture of 'his chopped off fingers' I saw shows a left hand, and the picture of him in the cell (or whatever room that is) shows his left hand unbandaged and his right bandaged. Maybe one of them was horizontally flipped? Not that I've ever seen someone's fingers chopped off, but the picture didn't look convincing to me. In any case the response doesn't seem very much like 'loving your enemies' or 'turning the other cheek'.

The lynch mob violence wasn't quite Christianly, but I can understand why it was done. After all, it was a 15 year old boy who's probably going to be given a light/no sentence for this grisly attack after all is said and done. Might as well give the little shit a little souvenir to teach him that there are consequences for actions like this.

Sure but they stayed under their rocks and felt rightly ashamed of themselves. Trump ensured that our lower vulgar natures rightly suppressed in public (and hopefully at home too) went mainstream. Marjorie Taylor Green, Michelle Boebert etc... all pure trash that do not belong in government. But trump opened the door.

He did more damage to the public discourse in one presidency than any single other American ever. He manipulatively stirs trash up in people for his own ends.

His kind of scum has no place in dignified positions.

My comment was in response to a guy who tried to reduce Trump's vulgar disgusting behavior to "mean tweets".

In regards to the finger.

Teen’s finger ‘cut off’

A still image circulating on social media of the male shows him handcuffed and sitting on a toilet, with his right hand bandaged.

News.com.au understands one of his fingers was severed – not deliberately by any of the parishioners, but during the scuffle, police believe.

Rumours had quickly spread through the crowd and on social media last night that vigilantes had “chopped off” some of his fingers.

He has undergone surgery at an undisclosed hospital.

A graphic image circulating on Telegram purporting to show four severed fingers is fake, news.com.au has confirmed.

Witnesses have indicated the alleged weapon was a flick blade knife and that the alleged attacker hadn’t opened it properly before striking.

Ms Webb confirmed police believe a flick blade was used.

Fuck me no. I hope to never see lynch mob violence in Australia.

Ah I didn't catch that part. Which is why it seemed out of character for you. Sorry about that.
