“My hardest training sessions will take place this week and next week. I have not started the weight cutting process yet. I am training a lot of takedowns, wrestling, and jiujitsu for my opponent. But I am also concentrating on my striking, which is essential for setting up every other aspect of MMA.

Siyar Bahadurzada has power in his hands, but his technical skills are not very good. His style is to just swing wildly and he has no real footwork. Honestly, don’t be surprised to see me stand with him. I believe I am the better overall striker. Siyar actually has a very similar style to Paulo Thiago, but with a bit more experience. Siyar will not be able to fight his normal style because he will be too worried about my takedowns. I plan on mixing it up with both striking and takedowns. I predict a dominant victory.”

This is a very good fight DHK, Siyar is coming of a long layoff and I believe will not have the TDD to keep in on the feet with Kim.

Like Kim says, Siyar will be concerned with the takedown which will throw his striking off, we see it all the time.

DHK by submission in the 3rd.

nice to know dhk and i are on the same page.

He's on the same page as most people, including the bookies. Most of the people picking Siyar are just haters that want to see Kim lose.

South Korean fighters like to talk some smack (not this interview specifically). I don't mind that.

Haha. Jayelectra, I swore you said almost the exact same thing in another thread involving a South Korean UFC fighter a while back.

War Asian Nation! I can't stand Siyar

He talks way too much, and after the Cyborg fight I can't wait to see him either KO'd (too bad the Alves fight didn't happen) or molested, which the Dong will surely do.

I was about to say the same thing.

yes Siyar swings wildly but that's not all he does. Anyone who has seen a lot of Siyar's fights understands that he's a brawler and not at technical striker but he has very good hand speed, huge power and is great at winning exchanges.

There really aren't a lot of mma fighters who sit in the pocket and win exchanges. Most of them prefer to either keep their distance and have tit for tat striking battles or grapple.

The problem for Siyar is that people already know that. They also know that his footwork, striking defense, and TDD are poor which is exactly what the higher level of competition will be able to exploit. Being a brawler doesn't just doesn't cut anymore if you want to make it to the top.

Not that he uses it often, but it's foolish to discredit Henderson's wrestling (before he gases). There's a reason why he used to be called Decision Dan. I think a much better comparison would be to someone like Paul Daley. Someone with decent striking and good power that won't back down from a firefight but also doesn't have much else to offer.

He's already lost the fight underestimating Siyar..the dude has Mac trucks for fist

This is the kind of trash talking I like he gives the guy credit but says how he plans on beating him

I've never been impressed with Siyar.

I wish Siyar vs Alves would have happened, Alves would have murdered him.
